Sorry to say, but I've lost just about all my faith in vets...

I do hope you and your sweet Hank get to the bottom of things soon.

The vet still wants to wait for the results of the bone marrow biopsy, but says he thinks he thinks this came about from a hypersensitivity to a rabies vaccine.

Hank just got done with his 2nd biopsy. Some good news, his red blood cell count is now up to 20% from 10% 2 weeks ago. Once he gets his rbc count up we can ween him off the prednisone and see if he relapses or not. Can't wait to get the results from the biopsy.

Woot, cautious optimism watching his counts rise and his second biopsy done. He's got the power of NN prayers and good energy behind him....come-on Hank!

Woo hoo!!!!! Just found out the biopsy results. His anemia was the result of a vaccination (his rabies) for sure and they did another CBC and all his counts are going up rapidly. All this means is that he is getting better and the doctor thinks that once he gets his count back up to 30% he can be off the prednisone and completely recover. I mean we will still have to make sure there isn't a relapse but thank god for this news. This morning too, he was in the backyard running around all crazy and trying to get me chase him with his toy. He has got some energy now and just in time for his first snow. I guess I just never thought a vaccine could do this much damage.
