Life isn't fair for Hank

We appreciate the support. He goes in this morning for his bone marrow biopsy, then comes the waiting game.

ask at your vets whether the results can be emailed through as this will speed up the time to get info. We did this for Beau and it cut down at least two days waiting each time.Big hugs as I always hate this part

Hank just got finished with his biopsy. They did another CBC and his red blood cell and hemoglobin counts still haven't gone up any. 3-4 days for the results.

Is the vet giving him any supportive care for the low blood levels and heavy panting? The 3 -4 day wait on top of however long this has been going on could be a strain on his heart and system. Has a cardiologist checked him out at all?

I had those same thoughts and of course being a medical researcher type I had to go look for possible causes and treatments. That's how I roll, when I'm worried I have to look for information.

I was thinking why not a blood transfusion? But apparently that may cloud the results of the biopsy. I'm hoping that this anemia is possibly related to the very extended course of antibiotic therapy or an iron deficiency (hair loss is common in humans with an iron deficiency anemia.)

While I'm looking, I'm keeping the prayers and good energy flowing for your little guy. It must be very difficult to wait while for results. But I'm sure you have confidence in your new vet, who seems to be on top of his condition. Sending  until you have some answers.

Heavy panting could be from lots of things, heart problems or pain could be just two. Chance panted a lot from Laryngeal Paralysis, and he also had heart problems. Just hoping the little guy is getting some help while waiting. And that waiting is the hardest part. Hugs and prayers coming to you all.

The first day we went and got a CBC and found all this out they gave him a prednisone shot and an iron injection. They sent us home with prednisone, pepcid, and doxycyline and he has been on those since.

I am so sorry to read this. Poor little sweetie. I hope you have answers soon. It is so hard when they are so little. How are you holding up?
