Wish me luck

I'll be speaking for the first time at a conference tomorrow. It's on integrating this package we bought at work with your website. Very geeky.

I'm very nervous. Art has spoken at several conferences but it will be my first time.

Since the conference is in Washington, DC I'll be taking the train in each morning. I can get lost in my own back yard and once got on a train to Delaware instead of New York

Then we've decided poor old Moose needs to spend the day at the vets while I'm at the conference because taking care of him would be too much for the pet sitter to handle. So Art and I will have to have him ready so we can leave at the same time. I'll get on the train and Art will take him to the vets.

And I won't get a chance until the last minute to make sure the projector will like my laptop and the internet at the hotel will actually work.

So wish me luck!

Did you know that speaking in public is the second most common fear we humans experience (snakes is #1) ? So you know that most everyone you will be speaking TO would be as anxious as you if you had to change places. Mark Twain said it best, "There are two types of speakers: those that are nervous and those that are liars".
Today, practice before a mirror, or give your speech to your dogs.

Good luck, you'll do fine!

good luck -- I just know you'll do a wonderful job. for myself, public speaking is my worst nightmare, my anxiety just takes over and I'm a mess. they always say to imagine your audience naked... well, maybe you should imagine them all as Newfs. :)

You can do it. I love speaking in front of people. I get nervous at first but then I just have fun. Don't worry if you make a mistake, everyone does. Also make it your own by adding some of your personality into it. Don't be all stuffy, business like. Let us know how it goes

Have a grand time. I assume it's something you like and enjoy. Remember that and it will come through. Think about all your old teachers, that's really public speaking every day, it will be fine.

Good Luck Sharon!

I took a public speaking course a while back and with each time I had to get up, I felt more nervous. But the class all said that each time I did better... go figure.

Your going to do great!
