Please say a prayer, light a candle tonight at 7:30. Tonight my sweet Mr.T will be put to rest. He was diagnosed with osteosarcoma 2 months ago and it has progressed so quickly it is amazing to me. He is no longer able to bare wt.and is pain which the pain meds do not seem to be helping anymore. My heart is breaking into a million pieces...who will greet me each morning, his self elected "job" was to greet me at the bottom of the steps, take my arm in his mouth and walk me down the hall to a chair and lick me enthusiasticly, who will I roar with, who will run into my arms full speed, like I have never seen them before..........he is truly the sweetest most beautiful loving soul..he will be in my heart always.

I am so so sorry. I certainly can empathize. I lost my first newfie boy, Barney to that terrible terrible disease.

Please know you will be in my thoughts and sending you many many prayers.

I am so sad for you and your angel boy. So very sad.. I have said before that sometimes there are no words.. This is one of them.

These decisions are always so very hard to make. Letting them go & freeing them of pain, shows how much you love them.

Your note strikes a cord within my heart. I lost my special boy this way as well. It's not fair. From someone who has questioned themself many times....you are doing the right thing and honoring your boy with this last act of love. I'm so sorry for your pain and pray for a peaceful passage. We will light a candle tonight to honor Titus.

The final gift is the hardest to give. May you have peace in knowing that the unconditional love you received from Titus is being returned, even though it means saying goodbye until you are reunited in spirit.

I will say this prayer as I light a candle to guide him to the reward he has so justly earned. Godspeed, Titus.


A Parting Prayer
Dear Lord, please open your gates and call St. Francis to come escort a beloved companion, Titus, across the Rainbow Bridge. Assign him to a place of honor, for he has been a faithful servant and has always done his best to please. Bless the hands that send him to you, for they are doing so in love and compassion, freeing him from pain and suffering.

Grant his family the strength not to dwell on his loss. Help them remember the details of his life with the love he has shown them. And grant them the courage to honor him by sharing those memories with others. Let him remember them as well and let him know that they will always love him. And when it's their time to pass over into your paradise, please allow him to accompany those who will bring them home.

Thank you, Lord, for the gift of his companionship and for the time they had together. And thank you, Lord, for granting them the strength to give him to you now.

Amen.

As many have said there are no words to help your pain, only the knowing that you will be easing his. Thank you for giving Titus a wonderful life, full of love and companionship. He will take that with him and will be watching over you all until that long someday comes when we will all meet again. Prayers for you all.
