Pari prelim diagnosis - partial cruciate rupture

Dianne - I have no idea. In all my dog years, I've not yet had to deal with this. I'll be doing lots and lots of research over the weekend before I go into that appt.

On the bright side, this doctor was BRILLIANT with Khabo's patella (not only did he have the luxating patella, but he has a 14 degree curvature of his rear legs. Normally, they would have to break and straighten the leg to ensure correction of the patella because the ligament wants to run a straight line which is why it was slipping off the knee cap. He managed to fix the patella without breaking the leg. And Khabo has been 100% fine ever since - going on 3 years...) So at least I'm seeing someone I have faith in.

Thinking of you and the Princess. Great that you have already had a good experience with this Ortho vet. Hopefully that will help alleviate a few of your worries! :hugs:

I'm sorry about the news Liisa! Dr. Berzon is one of the best!!!! I was referred to him a long time ago about Roger's joint laxity. When I decided on surgery for his knee's, I drove all the way from Long Island to Dr. Berzon because at that point no one else was touching my dog's with a knife! He confirmed everything for me but wanted Roger to have the TTA and sent me to who he thought was the best at it. That, being Dr. Prata here in Brooklyn NY. Dr. Berzon has a lot of experience with newfs! He also goes out of his way to be there for you and answer every question you have. I think he is great!!!!!

Jane - thank you sooo sooo sooo much for the affirmation on Dr. Berzon. I was impressed the first time around with Khabo and your experience just helps solidify my feelings that I'm in the best hands possible!

Sorry that you have to research this for your own pupper. Since she is strong and healthy hopefully she will have a quick recovery or better yet still hoping that it is just muscle.

So sorry to hear the news about The Princess. Sounds like Jane has given you a good feeling about DrB. Hopefully you'll rest a little easier knowing he's so familiar with the breed.
Thinking of you all. Hug HRH from The Quad and me.
