can you get a prescription from your vet and get the drug via a reputable internet source as this normally works out cheaper, do they know why he could be in pain?

I had asked my vet for a script for Chance's Metacam because I had found it at a reputable place for a lot cheaper. I had brought in a print out of the webpage. He said they would match the price. They even did this for his heartworm medication. It might be worth asking about.

Prayers coming for Monty.

When Monty first got sick he had an chest xray. His heart was fine and lungs too, But they did find arthritis in his back. The vet said that is normal for a dog his age. Monty is 9 but an old 9 if you know what I mean. He has had alot of heath issues, ie elbow and hip displasia and a torn ligament in his knee. He also gets easily stressed. I will start looking for an internet source for his meds. I use Dr. Foster & Smith for Frontline. Can anyone suggest another reputable internet source.

Sorry Monty is still having a hard time. It's so hard watching them get old.
I have used petfooddirect many times for food. They also sell deramaxx, don't know if it would be cheaper from them.

I like Valley Vet Supply also known as Direct Pet Superstore for small animals. They are very fast with anything I order. You can also call and talk to a pharmacist.

Website is valleyvet.com or, 1-800-360-4838

I've used www.entirelypets.com a lot. Their prices were good and had fast shipping. You can usually find coupons for them, or get them emailed to you if you sign up. I've also used www.kvsupply.com. When I first wanted to get heartworm meds online from them, my vet at the time actually called and spoke to their pharmacist. She wanted to check them out personally.

I ordered the deramaxx from kvsupply. I spoke to them and also checked with my vet and my vet has dealt with them. I paid $135 at the vet and kv supply was $84 for a one month supply.
Also Saturday Monty is going to the vet for his shots and I am going to discuss his continuing problems. Thanks for all the prayers and support. Keep the prayers coming.

Sorry to hear that Monty is still having so much pain. Did you say he's going to the vet for his shots on Saturday? Don't want to tell you what to do, but I think I'd hold off on that for now, and just wait til he's feeling better, before stressing his system with vaccinations.

Prayers from here, that Monty makes a good recovery.

Ditto what Laurel said. NO shots until he's well. The vaccines only depress the immune system further and can make him more ill!!!

Sending lots of good thoughts his way.

Yes, please no shots till Monty is well, and then I would give them one at a time with a rest period in between.

Hugs and prayers coming for you both.

I took Monty to the vet today. He had a titer done instead of getting a shot. Also I had the vet looks at his xrays again. She said he has arthritis in his back and that is probably causing the pain. He also has fluid on his knee. This is the one that he had torn the ligament in when he was 18 months old. The vet feels he is probably in pain for all of this and to keep him on the deramaxx. Every 3 to 6 months they will do blood work to check his liver. So for now we will make him comfortable and see what happens. Please keep Monty in your prayers. thanks for all the advice and prayers.

Sweet Monty, we are sending out prayers for you. Hope the meds keep him comfortable. You can give him SAM-e (human form) and milk thistle to support his liver. If he starts not wanting to eat, even the tiniest bit, take him in to have his liver enzymes checked. The vet told me that as the liver enzymes rise, it makes them nauseous.
