I come from a one dog and one dog only family. I never had, or even saw, another Newfoundland before getting Seamus.

Then we got Bentley, just to foster, of course. I'm pretty sure he's staying.

And I want another one.

I think I may be in trouble.

HAHAHHAAAA Sue,
I come from a one dog and one dog ONLY family. I had never seen or touched a Newfoundland before getting Lola...look where I am now :) BEWARE!!

Though I love it and wouldn't have it any other way.
I think it's time for a little girl puppy for you

Awwww. So glad to hear Bentley is settling in. What does your husband think of him now?

Big hugs. We all hear you. Every time there's a newf posted in the rescue section I turn beseeching eyeballs on Sandy. So far, he's shut me down every time. But I WILL wear him down!

My husband really likes Bentley, but THINKS he is going to a new home. Rescue hasn't found one for him, yet, and he seems to really like it here, so I certainly don't mind having him be a family member!

Like you, I plan on wearing my dear husband down, also! He has said if we get another one, he is moving out. Now, I really do love him, but there are days when that sounds okay to me!!! ;)

And Kelly, I really do need that girl puppy and know where some pretty darn cute ones are available. Did you here that Nessa? Start wearin' him down!!

Oh man, I tried. Rigsby's sisters must be to die for. But he's adamant. He says we have to have a human baby before adding anything else to this house that is covered in fur and has a tail.

Boo.

I want another Newf too, but won't be getting one. And who decided this? Orka! To my total astonishment, even though he is a play maniac and has to play with other dogs or he goes stir crazy, he has let it be known he likes his space here and wants to remain king of this household. He loves his solo walks with me, going everywhere, just being the center of attention. He loves going all over town, on the bus and train, and exploring new places. He has so many emotions about the kittens! He loves his service training even though sometimes he sulks and protests. Lately he has been voluntarily initiating leaving the dog parks to instead go on a solo walk with me. This totally surprised me!

I thought he would only be happy if he had a Newfie playmate living with him but he has let us know it's even more important to him now to be King Orka.

Sheesh, I'm like Nessa. Everything I see that needs a home, I look at Mark.
My problem is that if I say something like "he/she needs us" he in inclined to agree.
So, consequently it is I who needs to exhibit self restraint lest our house overflow.

Well, our all time high was 21 dogs at one time. We are reducing numbers now as you have to recognize that as you get older you can't look after quite so many and when you love them you want to take good care of them. So now we are at 10 and trying to hold. But oh it is so hard when a pair of dark brown eyes begs love me.

:whistling: My puppy fever is a chronic condition with frequent flare-ups. Just yesterday we saw two 8 week old lab puppies and I felt an acute onset. Then looked at the couch, the floor, the car, my teeth and remembered Zeus is blowing coat. Calmed the fever temporarily.
