What I learned today

So, I took Siri to Petsmart for the first time today. It was a little like taking Justin Bieber to an elementary school. Is this a normal reaction to taking a Newf out in public? I was a little overwhelmed by the amount of attention she attracted!

Hehe, never plan less than a hour. Show up with multiple newfs, and plan on spending the whole day.

Always. No matter what kind of dogs are there, the Newfies stop everyone in their tracks.

Also reminds you how big they are again, too, when you see them next to wimpy labs, shepherds, and goldens! :roflmao:

Yep, and that is why being owned by this breed brings so much fun!! I just keep stressing to everyone who is so 'jealous' that these guys shed like they've never seen, slobber and ruin the woodwork in their homes, and cost a small fortune to do routine stuff (let alone feeding), but the vets ADORE us because we have open wallets.....on GIANT dogs. Gulp. Not, not for the faint of heart this breed!

Yep... a trip to petsmart/ petco around here .. we figure 2 hours.. especially on weekends.

I suspect the same thing about my Vet too! I am convinced that they give us special treatment above all other clients because of how much money we've dropped there since we picked Mila up from the airport! They're laughing all the way to the bank!

And yes Rowsysmitt, your Newfie will become a local superstar in no time and no one will know your name, just your Newf's name, and no one will recognize you without him/her.
