Ford Focus. I think I could squeeze another dog in the back. My round trip commute to work is almost 100 miles. I need something that is fuel efficient.

Ford Econoline extended van because I can't get 2 - 700 Varikennel crates side by side in anything else along with their other stuff.

2010 Toyota Matrix. Just traded in my old one...Cookie loved having a sunroof. The back seats fold down but she didn't like that. She preferred having something to lean on (probably due to being in my old Honda Civic). Fits five adults comfortably, probably two Newfs comfortably with the rear seat folded! :)

Does that mean a new puppy for us to envy????
Eric sure did try and talk me into getting a new puppy before he left.... I actually held my ground and said NO. I think he needs to be here for all the craziness the little one would bring to the house. Although I did say that leaving here with a puppy in two and half years would be an option. So I am sure he'll be talking to Typhoon's breeder and see if he can get her to time the whelping just right LOL

Thanks for all the replies. I have some research to do. I definitely need 4WD, and I may find some zero % financing coming up for the end-of year sales.

Me-Dodge 3500 RAM dually 4 door, all 3 fit in the back, even on long trips like to OC.
Wife-Chevy Tracker 4 door, tight squeeze for all 3 dogs, need a new car soon, this is a 2001, perfect condition, kept in a heated garage; Linda likes small SUVs.
Both vehicles are 4WD.

Jeep Wrangler, 4 Door. Love it.

Hold 3 Newfs -- in an emergency I could cram all 5 dogs in, but usually if we are heading somewhere with the whole herd we take both vehicles. I have to have 4x4 where I live, and it does the trick, without being too huge or eating up too much gas.

Our other vehicle is a Dodge Dakota, the 4 door as well. The back seat holds 2 Newfs comfortably. Also 4x4, great truck, again not too huge, good on gas. Super handy to have on the farm. However, when we are ready to get a new vehicle we will be getting a full-size, probably the Dodge Ram so we can pull horse trailers, etc - again with the full size back seat for the dogs. I would never get a pick-up without a full back seat and 4 doors.

2009 Ford Escape. A little shorter than the Explorer, but it can hold 4 Newfies, 2 Poms, 1 MIL, 1 Wife, and myself. We do have a 5'x8' Trailer that holds our and the guys personal stuff. Everyone rides comfortabily in the Escape. We put the wide fold down seat into the floor, and they flat area has dog bed/pillows for confort. Judy or GMa sits in the small back seat and the other in the fronst pass seat, and I drive. This includes long trips.

Love the Bluetooth buillt-in phone system you talk to the vehicle and it calls whom you want. Totally hands free phone. Fold down seats work (get the leather). Drives like a car, has SUV room, good gas milage. 4 Newfies ride comfortably. Like the side board runners, and the sun roof, so to the guys they like when stopped hanging out the sunroof attracting pets and hugs.

I have a Hummer H3, I love it but definitely not for everyone. My wife has a Honda Fit which is perfect for 1 Newf in the back end (with all seats folded down in the back), dont think it would fit more than 1 though.

We've got a 2010 Ford Flex, and there is TONS of room when the third row of seats is folded down. We fold down half, Chewie sits/lays there, and my daughter sits in the seat beside him. With both seats down, two Newfs would fit back there easy. Plus, it's an awesome car:) Good luck in your search!
