It is 3:45 in the morning and like many of you, I can't sleep. Pennie, I am so sorry. Thank God Chelsea was with you. She knew the depth of your love. She felt warm, comforted, secure basking in the warmth of your and Jim's love. She crossed that Bridge knowing the intensity of love some never experience, feeling lifted by God alone knows how many candles, prayers, and veritable silken ribbons of positive thought woven by NNetters from all over the world to hold her up and sustain her. Now she is well, whole, and, most importantly, does not see through a glass darkly, but with perfect understanding. Her friends at the Bridge were legion from the moment she crossed - the spirits of our precious furkids must have known, had to know, how special she was.
You were her precious angel here on earth. God bless you and all who grieve Chelsea with the peace that passes understanding. Chelsea was a valiant spirit and brought out the best in so many people. I, too, am a better person for knowing this precious girl, and knowing all who loved her and stood by you. If memories of spirit, action, and happenstance make a trail for us in life as most think they do, this trail is lit by at least one million glowing candles of love and support. Candle light is fragile, but it illuminates much. Our hopes and prayers were fragile and, in the end, were not to be realized, but what a bright light they made. . still make. Godspeed precious Chelsea, and again, God bless you and those who love her.

Chelsea was a very brave spirit with a strong heart. As others have expressed this sentiment, thank God she was with her people before she crossed the bridge. She gave you some comfort as well as you gave her some comfort before her next journey. I hope in time her precious memories will bring some joy into your hearts. I am so sorry for your loss.

*sigh*

Oh, not good news to read first thing in the morning.
The poor girl :-(. The poor family. :-(.

At least she was with the ones she loved when she crossed though. For that, I am thankful.

 I think people all over are crying with Penny this evening. At least Chelsea was with her people and she isn't suffering anymore. I am at a loss for words.

Godspeed Chelsea! Rest easy now sweet girl!
Never a truer word spoken.
Last night, hundreds of miles away from Kentucky I lay crying here in England about the sad news of Chelsea's passing.
Her story touched us all and litterally brought nations closer together.
Special special girl xxx

Sweet Chelsea...be at peace. You know how much you were loved here on this earth. Now run free across the Rainbow Bridge. I am so sorry for your loss, Pennie.

I have just caught up with this....................It is so very sad, poor Pennie and all the others who loved her. At least she died with her caring owners and truly loved. Another sweet angel at rainbow bridge......................

My heart goes out to Pennie and her family. I can't imagine the pain they must be feeling. My heart also goes out to the two men (the deer hunters) who rescued Chelsea. They must be grieving as well. I believe Ginny said these men dug for an hour and a half to try to free Chelsea from the mud. No doubt these men formed a strong bond with Chelsea as they did everything they could to help her. And, no doubt Chelsea knew they were trying to help her. I pray everyone involved will receive some comfort in knowing their efforts were not in vain and that Chelsea is now at peace. Trudie
