Tank hiking at Carder Rock, MD

We went hiking yesterday even though it was raining bc we wanted to do some off leash practice with Tank. We thought since it was raining and cold there would not be too many people out and about.
Here we are on our way.

Tank off leash....I was a bit worried.

Still off leash and even stopped briefly to take a family picture.

Check out her recall.....she was inches from jumping in the water.

She did sooo much better than I thought she would. A couple of people passed us walking and she stayed in a sit, but when we said okay ....she ran down the trail after them to say hello. Steve whistled and she came running back. I am not confident enough to take her off leash by myself, but she did great!

That's great stuff! Our guys really enjoy their off-leash time too. It's a lot of fun when you can trust them and just be relaxed about it. Good luck with further practice!

Tank is gorgeous!!!! Keep practicing the recall. She'll get it the more you practice it.

Now only if I could put my words into reality with Tsunami....:whistling: Typhoon on the other hand...NO WORRIES.

What a great time was had.......Practice makes perfect, just keep going on these hikes. Loved the pics

Good girl Tank. I would have been afraid she may have jumped in the water too.

Sure wish I could trust Snuffles off leash, but he has a horrible fetish for bicycles. And no mater how crappy the weather, there is always someone out there. :(

JUst keep working with her, the sit-stays, recall, come, etcl, she will get the hang of it, we have been working with Tiki, he is stubborn, but is coming around, practice makes perfect. We will be enrolling him in basic obedience class starting in March. Tank is looking great, she is getting so big. Looks like a great place for hiking!!
