Raising funds for Zuzu's knee surgery

Since Sadie's Mom, Scarlet and Karma's Mom's and Zuki are all located in CT, I'd be happy to look at an April date to come down there, rather than you all schlepping up here to the Cape. Diane, the more the merrier and if your groomer's partner want to be there...excellent...since I'm always open to others tips and suggestions. I'll get back to you ASAP about dates.

Sarah, let me know if you still want Sadie to get her 'do' here in MA on the 15th.
Mary and Sylvia, this would mean a weekend off for you and a reschedule for an April date in Vernon.
Suzanne...bring that Baby Alligator over to see me anytime!
Brandie, we're still on for th 9th in NH.

Hows Zuzu doing Mary?
I keep checking your fundraiser and you are doing well. Fingers crossed we get you there soon.

Keep cross posting for you so hopefully it all helps.

Thanks Victoria! Zuzu has an infection at the site of the pins/clamps that are temporarily holding her knee in a neutral position. She was on Cephalexin since the surgery, then we added Clavamox while waiting for the culture, and it improved quite a bit, now yesterday we got the final culture back and I traded in the remaining Clavamox and got her on Zeniquin which is supposed to hit all the bugs they found traces of.

The surgeon said that these infections are really common, and he's not worried as long as we keep cleaning it with disinfectant and abx cream every day, and she tolerates the Zeniquin which knock on wood she has. The Clavamox made a big difference but there was still a bit of ooze so I am hopeful that the Zeniquin will get rid of that. She never seemed very uncomfortable, only a very small fever and no redness/swelling or lethargy, so I think we caught it early.

The local vet, the surgeon, and I are talking amongst ourselves a couple of times a week. Zuzu and I will go late next week or early the following week (which would be 4 weeks exactly after the surgery) for a check of the LP surgery and pins and evaluation of when to do the right knee.

Besides being gimpy, Zuzu is pretty darned happy. I just caught her thumping her tail in her sleep. :)

Is the little man doing better now after his slip earlier in the week?

Max is doing fairly well though we are still watching him like a hawk as he is sore, dont know if its the surgery or just generally sore. The vets arent worried about it though. He isnt allowed to breathe now without us double checking him especially after the 1am stint . Between him and my Merlin who has a vets visit next week for a troublesome sebaceous cyst I think I am keeping the local vets busy .

If its not one its the other.

Many thanks to Brandie and Maggie (Brandie&Maggie) and Sue (Newfs Forever) for allowing me to groom their "Kids" yesterday. It was a beautiful, bright day with freshly fallen snow and the drive was a reminder of how pretty the area they live in still is after many years of not getting up to that part of New England. Maggie is a sweetheart with the MOST magnificent tail I've ever seen. The kitties are adorable and fluffy. Sue's Sam is tall, dark and handsome with the MOST soulful face. Both Newfs were very generous with their kisses; even though they were getting tired of me fussing over them they were both delightful. As for Brandie and Sue, what can I say except that Newf People are THE BEST. Many thanks for allowing me to groom your family members, it was an honor. And thank your for your generosity in helping out a "neighbor."

Thanks, Tricia! You did such a lovely job! As you recall, I had a Newfie Fun Day meeting this morning, and everyone commented on how beautiful Sam looked! True! True!

Also, thank you for such a generous offer on your part. Yep, you're right, newfie people are the best!

I can't give any money at the moment, wish I could, but I can send up some prayers for Zuzu. It is awesome to see so much love and support to you.

That sounds like pretty positive news from the checkup! Sending along healing vibes for a quick and sound recovery so she can get the other leg repaired!
