Raising funds for Zuzu's knee surgery

Where are you in CT, Sadie's Mom? I did say all of New England, I spent a day west of Hartford grooming a friend's 2 Newfs. OK, well one and a half, one had a bath the day before and was just not about to get up on the table again. He got his ears and feet done on the floor. Message me if you'd like a groom, otherwise, come up to the Cape in the spring and drop her off at the shop while you do some sightseeing and beachin'.

(I used to do wound care consulting. My territory was New England. On any given day I might get called to go as far as Burlington, VT., to Bangor, ME. or Stamford, CT. and points in-between. You start to realize after a bit how small New England really is.)

And I would love to make a donation to this cause.

Mary K., you have no idea how hard it has been to restrain myself from imposing...errr, inviting myself over to see that baby. I'm a-scared of the cops picking me up for Newf-stalking.

C'mon over!!!!!!! You're most welcome here and I bet Suzanne wouldn't mind a bit if you came over to snuggle and cuddle Ms Shelby.

Hmmm...By the end of March, Lucy will probably need a good groom. I'll have to check my schedule and see if I can make it down to Falmouth.

I will hold a "Groom Your Pet Newfie" seminar at my shop in Falmouth, MA. on a Sunday in March. I'm looking at the 10th, 17th or 24th as potential dates. I can accomodate about 10-12 people and potentially do 3-4 Newfs for full grooming from pre-bathing brush out to finish trims. You'll have an opportunity to learn to do a 'pet' trim and get tips on how to shape, thin and tidy up your dog, do nails, get nice little cat paws and tackle trouble spots. You can try out my grooming tools: clippers, different blades, combs, shears and thinners. You can also try different shampoos, conditioners, deshedding solutions and coat enhancing spray on conditioners. I'll provide light refreshments or we can walk across the street and have mimosas/bloody mary's at the cafe across the street. A donation of $50 to have your dog groomed or $25 to audit and learn ear and feet trims on my dogs is suggested. Let me know if you're interested and dates that work for you. All proceeds will go towards Zuzu's surgery/rehab fund.
What an amazing offer! I too wish you were in CT. If by chance you want to run that seminar again in April in CT I am pretty sure I could get my groomer to let us use her shop on a Sunday since it's a fundraiser! If we got a few people interested I bet we could even cover your travel expenses etc!

Donated as well! Been there when Luna needed 5 surgeries.

I'd love to do a travelling Groom your Newfie show! All I would ask is that any proceeds go to ZuZu's fund or Newfie Rescue if Zu's medical costs are already covered. My sister lives in Tolland, Diane, so travel to CT is no problem.

Sweet - more so since my groomer is in Vernon CT about 15 minutes from Tolland. Let me email her in the am and I'll explain the situation. Maybe we can make it for early April?!

Wow, I am just amazed by all the support and love for "little" Zuzu (we've always called her Little Zu though people tend to give us funny looks when we do, lol)!

I am looking forward to the day when I can pay it forward - so many people have shared our story/link on facebook and with friends/family, and have shared their stories with me of hard times with their dogs. It really means so much to know that we're not alone in this.

Best,
Mary

Sweet - my groomer is all for the fundraiser any Sunday in April. Tricia, I'll PM you so we don't hijack this tread. But for anyone interested the location is in Vernon CT right off of I84.
