Ok...... I did it

I have been thinking of going back to school to become a Family and Marriage Therapist. So This week I headed over to the community college t look into it. As it turns out ) I took a ceramics class in 1979 9the only college I ever had) and during the class I got a job that conflicted so I never finished the class and ended up with a D and 3 credits. I also ended up on academic probation for the last 30 years! With a 1.0 GPA lol.

My advisor laughed and allowed me to take normal classes without me taking the steps to correct my probation! However…. I did have to take the reading and comprehension placement exam to take the class I want to take - PSYC 1100. Seems they think us older people have forgotten what we learned! So….. Yesterday I took the practice test and got an 85. Today I went in and took the real exam. I scored a 97 out of 99 possible! :groovy:

The lady that gave me my score said “Not many get that score, you did very well!” So it seems I can read something and actually recall what I read. Maybe that’s a lost skill today, I’m not sure. LOL

So now I can register for my 1 class this summer. I was also told that I will need to do the same for math and that is going to be a problem! I took a look at a practice exam and went oops - need to brush up on that a LOT!! Oh well, I am sure this is just the start of it all!

Good for you! Good luck, though it doesn't sound as though you will need it with those kind of test scores.
