Been to Penny's Seminar, North Central Newf Club held one a couple of years ago. Well worth the money. Learned alot. You'll have a good time.GREAT !! Thank you so much for the links! I am actually going to a newf grooming seminar next weekend to listen to Penny Shubert & Umberto Lehman; I really can't wait!!
Do you happen to know who the dog on the table was? A Gorgeous girl !
So glad to hear you liked it Meg. Jill is in desperate need of a bath and grooming, but I'm trying to hold off until my order arrives. Did you have to use more than a tablespoon or two of the shampoo? I don't have one of those water recycling systems and I can't imagine that small an amount getting mine clean.Just received my shampoo order today! Bojie went straight into the tub after it arrived. So far, so great! His coat looks amazing, and my favorite part was how easy it rinsed out. I also used the conditioner on his chest, legs, and backside
Yes, I had to use way more than that. I don't have one of those systems either, and I usually dilute my shampoos, but the bottle specifically said not too. I took a picture with my camera phone of how "poofy" his head is! I can't tell you how great it is to have the shampoo rinse out so easily! So glad to hear you liked it Meg. I did the same thing with the conditioner. We haven't had any problems, and if anyones going to get hotspots, it would Boj. Zero residue and it's been over a week. Looks fab. In fact, we're doing it again this weekend, and I'm going to try it out on the puppy as well.Jill was bathed in the new shampoo and groomed today. It seemed to take less time to dry her than usual and her coat looks good. I was surprised that the conditioner is a leave in type. I tend to steer clear of doing that, but I did apply a small amount to her feathers and chest and left it in. Hopefully, no skin issues will crop up.
I don't have hydrosurge. I put the shampoo in one of those pointed hair dye bottles so I could put the shampoo where I wanted it and not waste any. If a dog was really dirty, I'd think you'd have to shampoo with another shampoo first. This stuff hardly lathers, but rinses out very easily. She looks good today after romping in the wet backyard for hours.Ginny, do you have a hydrosurge system? If not, did you dilute the shampoo? It also looks like very little conditioner is used.
Oh and HOLY SMOKE, $50 for a comb, yikes! (Even though I'm tempted.)
That's actually my favorite tool too, besides the Mars Coat king.I am no groomer and don't know what the heck I'm doing. However, I'm experimenting and learning. Orka has a long coat and is constantly dripping wet, full of debris and muddy. He plays with a lot of other dogs and gets daily slobber plastered.
I saw this 'rake' at Western Pet Supply and bought it and it's my favorite grooming tool so far for getting those thick tufts of separating coat out without his annoyance. I brush first, then use this, and the result is silken, without pain for either one of us.
