Thank you all so much for the many many prayers. Maya came home the night before last, and seems stable on pain meds. It was really terrible there for a few days. We visited her twice daily in the hospital, and she was always feverish, glassy eyed and non-responsive. It was just awful. She is more herself, although very tired. The first time she cleaned herself and the first time she barked I nearly lost it with joy. The vets are hoping that her good response to the antibiotics means that its an infection, rather than cancer. We still have a ways to go though. We'll wean her from her pain meds and see how she does in the next week. I spent most of the day lying with her on a blanket in the yard and just being so grateful that she is still here, and home. These dogs are so incredible, and I love her so much. Her sister (newfie Chloe) is overjoyed that she is home as well. Fingers crossed that she keeps on her road to recovery. She is getting spoiled rotten at the moment!
