Sad news here...Bindi got banned from my moms pool (mom lives right next door)..my mom says her hair is killing the pump and drainer...waaaa...she is only allowed to swim 1 day a week.:(
She LOVES to swim!! I think I might just get a plastic baby pool...:grrr:

Donna,

I was going to suggest the same thing. And I think if you google the problem, there a few "home remedies" you can put together to fix the problem. I seem to remember something about using nylon in conjunction with the skimmer basket....

Get the liners for the skimmers. I've used them for years with Newfs and Labs in the pool, no problems with pump, filter, etc. They work beautifully. Also keep grass clippings, leaves, bugs, etc. out of pump system. Well worth the money, and they make cleaning the skimmers an easier task. You can get them at almost any pool suppy store and Wal-Mart now carries them.

Poor Bindi! But, I'm glad to read about this as Darcy is close to being banned from our OWN pool which she is in at least 15 times per day.

What a good idea! Especially with Bindi having a sad face; guilt always works in our family :devil3::whistling:

I also use the skimmer socks. They are wonderful. I clean them everyday and I don't have any problems with the filter. And I have 6 dogs swimming every day plus their buds come over once or twice a week, so at any one time I could have 9 dogs in the pool.

We turn the pump off while the dogs are in the pool and leave it off while I dry them. Afterwards I skim it with the net provided before I turn it back on. So far haven't had any problems with the pump in the last 5 years. Good luck.

From all the ideas offered doesn't sound like you would need this one but just in case- almost 40 years ago had a friend with two Irish Setters. He put two filter systems on the pool so they could swim.

The creepy crawley is a vaccuum system. There should be a skimmer, too. The creepy crawley takes debris off the floor of the pool, but the skimmer would get the hair that floats for quite some time on the surface.
