Worried for my Bosley

Well my husband just left with Bosley to go to the vet. Getting fixed in the morning. His testicles have not descended at all and at this point are not going to. Changes the type of surgery around a lot!! I am worried about him. He number one has never been in a cage or crate. He is not going to like that at all and I worry about them having to sedate him and put him to sleep to operate. Just needed to vent a little. I don't want to express this to my husband because he is worried worse than me. Thanks all for listening.:ah:

Thanks. I feel like he is one of my kids. Silly huh? Little bit teary eyed ha ha. We have only had him 10 months and I can't imagine him not being here.

We've all been there. Lots of good thoughts coming and if you didn't worry you wouldn't care and THAT would not be good.

Sending good thoughts to Bosley, you and Hubs. He'll be GREAT. Just went through this with one of my kiddos this January. He was PITIFUL but he played it up real good too. Lots of groaning, glancing my way - is she paying attention, etc. He was GREAT after a rest.

Nevertheless. I did worry...

Thanks everyone for the thoughts and prayers. The vet of course has to tell you all the bad things that can happen with anesthesia. It really rattled our cages. My husbands last dog died after a procedure so we can't quite let go of that thought. We know it needs to be done but I am still worried. My hubby says all we can do is let go and let God and he is right. It is very nice however to know you all are sending such good thoughts our way!!!! Thank you!!

You're in the right place to find comfort. We all stress when our Newfies go to the vets. We all can't imagine not having them around.... I think that's why so many people here have more than one. :hugs:

Thinking good thoughts for your boy! There are a few Newfs I know of that had undescended testicles and got through surgery perfectly. Don't worry at all about the crate issue. It was one of my fears for Boj too, but they actually seem to like their own little safe den when recovering. Boj hadn't been in a crate since he was 10wks old- Since his TPLO surgery a couple of months ago, he still LOVES the crate I put up for him to recover in. I can't take it down! Doesn't do much for the living room, but it makes him feel safe and cozy- and it will do the same for Bosley too. He'll be so sedated from pain meds etc, he won't mind anything initially post op. Promise.
