Well with some happiness and sadness Gus was adopted to his new forever home. We were sad to see him go! My daughter is really misses him a lot. Noche has been pretty sad today too. I got an update on Gus this morning and it sounds like he is doing great. He slept on the bed and on the floor last night. The adoptive family currently has a Newf. They sent me a picture this morning of Gus with his head on the rump of his new brother.

Gus had come a long way in the 2 months that we had him. I am guessing we put about 20 lbs on him which is a good thing being that he was extremely skinny when we first got him. We taught him some basic manners, sit, stay, heel, come, walking on the left side without pulling and sitting and staying while I put his food bowl down. He is still a bit skiddish at times but is doing fantastic. We were on a walk the other day and he was nervous of the leaves falling....HEEHEE He is still a bit nervous of people. I had a friend come over on Friday and he was in the kitchen barking at her while she was in the living room. I handed my friend and few treats to give him and that is about all it took. Time and love will make him more comfortable and he is well on his way.

All in all our first experience as foster parents has been fantastic. We look forward to continuing as foster parents.

I'm sorry you are sad. I can certainly understand. But, what a selfless thing you did taking that sweet boy so far, getting him ready for his new home!

It's always a Happy/Sad day when your foster leaves, bittersweet I guess. They can be a handful, but it's so personally rewarding.
