Ugo vs. Soledad O'Brien

I'm not sure if any of you have been following this story originally in the NY Post on Jan. 18th...but the NYC Co-op that Soledad O'Brien from CNN News Channel lives in has signed an eviction notice for the family that owns Ugo a Neopolitan Mastiff. Well, Fox 5 News just had the family and dog on for an interview...the Husband is a NYC Immigration lawyer and Ugo was a stunning an extremely well-behaved dog. Soledad, as the Co-op's secretary signed the eviction notice and now the family has no choice but to leave or fight...they have decided to persue legal action. FYI this Co-op allows dogs and cats with no size restrictions, and, Soledad is a cat owner..I'll post a video clip later when I have a moment to search...perhaps others have links...the "beef" with Ugo is that he smells, slobbers and is large...hmmm...gets me going!

My own take..most people..are not going to be, or become..'giant breeds' lovers. That said..the best choice might well be leaving for an area where large and giant breeds are welcomed/appreciated. Is the situation a fair one..right now? I do not think so..but it is the first I have heard of it..and thus lack a 'history' with all the rest of story..as it may have been played out. Reversing the situation..if I were suddenly living in a condo..and noted I was surrounded by hyper-toothy-yaps, let alone ...their dogs..I'd be calling a moving van..on the instant! ina n HB n Kesa

Seems to me if there is no restrictions in the by-laws regarding size of pet, they really don;'t have much of a leg to stand on.

I never watch CNN either, but there's a huge uproar about this. Many people are contacting them and aren't happy, at all.

hope the dog wins, notice there arent any complaints about noise, barking etc. so he drools and slobbers , better that than a yappy little thing

Slobber to me is medicinal from my newfs fftopic: I saw this on Fox News the other day and now know why I don't watch CNN. If there are no restrictions on size, then they don't have a legal leg to stand on (the condo committee) let alone 4:devil:

What's the world coming too??? So the dog is big and slobbery and has gas?? He's in his own home...he's allowed to. That woman needs help...of the psychiatric type.
