Thoughts for our Sheza

I hope you all dont mind my putting this in this forum since this is not newf related ,but there is so much strength in this newf net family.

For 27 years this precious buckskin lady has seen us through so much, she has survived 3 major surgeries she was given less than 50 per cent odds the first two times and almost no odds the last time.

She amazed the staff and, professors at Auburn Univ Equine hospital ,, not once , but 3 times. She pulled through with the help of those wonderful vets but they said each time it was against the odds and that she had the biggest heart and an amazing will to live because of her love for us. Again , proof that animals have strong ties to their humans and animal companions.

for the last year she has been battling tumors in her mammory glands along with Cushins Disease. She is fighting each day to be the same dedicated lady but the tumors are taking a toll. each day as she walks through the pasture after her breakfast she walks slower and her skeleton body, once so muscular and beautiful is getting ever so horribly thin and weak. It hurts my heart each morning when I go to feed all the barn babies and see each day she is going down yet she continues to try and act normal. Down to a skeleton weight. she eats well, but with the tumors and cushins she is still losing weight and getting weaker yet continues to outwardly show no pain, I know she is getting tired and the trauma of the tumors has to be a discomfort. My vet says he knows us and our love for her well enough to know that we will know when to let go.

I would thank you for your prayers for her as we are try to keep our strength for this precious family member.

Thanks so much for listening and for prayers for Sheza.
