The doctor just called and said Kali is doing well. The surgery went well, although once they went in, they found that one of the two cartlidges were torn, so they had to repair that as well. She is comfortable and just starting to lift her head. Doctor says for me to call for updates tonite at 8 and in the morning at 9. I wll know tomorrow when she is coming home.

Thank you all for your prayers and contributions. Every little bit helps and the vet was amazed that strangers want to help out. I said, but we all share the same love of Newfoundlands.

Will update everyone once she is home.

Thank you all for the information you provided me with from your experiences. I went in there this morning with a list of questions and what I preferred in medicine for her, I left so empowered. Bless you all for that.

(Of course you know I was a basket case this morning when I had to leave her and the doctor wheeled her away on the gurnie.) But now I cry tears of relief and joy that she is going to be ok.

So glad that hurdle has been cleared. Just remember that the rehab period is of utmost importance. Great surgical repairs can be ruined by not following the post op protocol.

Glad your baby got over the first hurdle, now rest up for the rehab and all the spoiling in the next few weeks.

Happy to hear that this phase of the journey is now complete. Now on to rehab. Hang in there. We're all pulling for you and sending good thoughts your way.

Great news! Most of the time their meniscus is completely or partially torn once they rupture their CCL's- The repair of that won't hinder her recovery at all. So glad she's doing well, baby steps every day now and before you know it she'll be her old self. Keep the updates coming when you can and get a GREAT night sleep tonight. You won't sleep soundly for the next few days (one ear open- if your a maniac like me), and she's in great hands for the night so rest well:)
