Sunny went in for her trachial lavage & bronchoscopy this am. Can someone explain to me why I had to have her there by 7:30 when they weren't planning on scoping her until noon? Anyway, it has been a very long morning waiting for the phone to ring. The Doctor called around 1:45 to tell me she came through the procedure like a trooper and that her laranyx is normal. No laryngeal paralysis!:groovy: I was so worried about this. Her cultures & biopsy will not be back for a few days. He said she looked "pretty good" and we will have to see how she is this week. He is sending her home with a hydrocodone cough medicine & an antibiotic. I am feeling very optimistic that she is almost done with this nightmare. She has seemed better every day & her breathing seems at times almost normal. The cough comes and goes but it is much better.
Thank you all for your reassuring words, prayers and for virtually holding my hand through all of this. It is so comforting to have a place to go, where people understand just how much she means to me. She is truly my second child.
I am off to pick her up and will update with what antibiotic she is on, as it is one I had never heard off!
