Rosie is getting spayed this am

I took Rosie for her spay appointment this morning. She was so sweet, she had her paw on my arm during the entire ride over.

I am feeling so nervous as this is her first time with anthesia.

So for all of you veterans out there - what can I expect for the next couple of days?

She trotted in and sat on the scale. She wanted to make sure those Christmas treats hadn't added a few pounds! She weighs 70.9!

Okay back to clock watching :shuffle::shuffle:

Most importantly, keep her as quiet as you can... I know, not an easy task. But, it is important to keep her activity to a minimum; but the Vet will tell; you about that; also keep an eye on the incision; any weeping, redness around the incision and it feels hot to the touch. Thule did have some infection after surgery, vet said she had reaction to the type of suture that was used. Rosie will be a little groggy when you bring her home, maybe a little wobbly, but Thule did not sleep it off - like she should have - she was determined to try and stay awake ... stubborn creature!

Rosie will be fine.... give her kisses for me once she's home.

Just keep her still and quiet. When we had it done, we also had gastropexy and biopsies, so Darcy was probably much worse off. But, still, do keep her quiet. They bounce back pretty quickly! Thinking of Rosie today...

Hope all goes well Tricia. Everyone has pretty much covered it.I tried to keep Chloe quiet but she just did what she wanted (as usual) LOL.

Both Annabelle and Tessa had no problems. Except for the fact we could see it was done, they behaved as if nothing happened. the hardest thing for me was keeping them out of water and quiet. Now that is a challenge.
So :hugs: and healing thoughts for Rosie, Ronnie

coming home and first day you will probably have to tempt her to eat, after that just keep an eye on the incision and try to stop any jumping, running etc. Keep her on a leash as much as possible outside to stop her wanting to chase or run after anything.
If you have snow beware of her slipping , apart from that she hopefully wont have any issues

Thanks for all of the advice and well wishes.

Rosie is home and sleeping in her crate. She wasn't interested in water at all and seemed to just want to chill. I thought the crate was the best place for now but will let her hang with me on the couch in a bit.

Hopefully, she will want a little dinner and water soon. The Vet said small meal tonight.

Everything went really well! Now to keep her guiet!
