Reunion with My Newfie

Hello all...

I'm a lurker primarily (gosh that sounds bad - like I'm a stalker, lol) - but today is a big day!!

I gave up my Newfie, Cookie, for adoption 4 years ago. She is now 6 years old, and I never thought it would be possible, but today I will get to see her. I am mixed with feelings of excitement and joy, also hope that she might possibly remember me (I'm trying not to expect that).

Well, her mommy gave me bad news yesterday - Cookie has bone cancer. She has had it for about 7 months or so, and according to her mommy, Cookie is doing very well, not suffering or lacking in quality of life. There's just no idea how long Cookie will be here with us. This makes my visit even more bittersweet. :angel:

I will hopefully get pictures up so you can see my fuzzball. Please send prayers my way today...I so enjoy reading everyone's stories and especially photos of your babies.

PS - My boyfriend is coming with me as he KNOWS I want another Newf someday. He has to know what he's getting into. :)

have agood day and remember you gave up Cookie to give her the life you couldnt give her at the time. She obviously has a good life despite her illness so hopefully seeing her will release you from any feelings of guilt you had when you had to get her adopted. And who knows when you are more settled and able to what is possible over the horizon, ,maybe more than one newf

Enjoy the time you get with Cookie; you made her needs foremost then, and she knows it.

Hope you have a wonderful reunion knowing you did the best thing for her then and she is surrounded with love now when she needs it most.

What a joyful thing for Cookie, to see her old friend again. That will make her day, and yours too. Good luck, I hope you both have a super day, and we shall await photos and an update.

I hope you had a wonderful reunion today. I bet she does remember you too. Dogs don't forget much. I honestly believe that.

Hey, if you ever find yourself up near Raleigh PM me and we'll get together and you can meet Pae and Syd. You're not that far away.
