Yesterday, I decided to take Maddie to visit my mother in the nursing home. When I got there, Mom was indisposed, so I went in to the living room to wait for her. Right away, all the staff was coming up to Maddie and petting her and commenting on how beautiful she is. Then, the daughter of one of the residents called me over and told me that her father was from Newfoundland. He was thrilled to see a Newf and talked a little about his home.
After visiting with my mother, who told everyone MUTIPLE TIMES that as a small child I was afraid of dogs and now have these big dogs, another family member grabbed us and brought us in to her mother's room. Her mother just loves dogs and was so happy to see Maddie. Her mother has a jar in her room with treats for the dogs that come in. I promised that I would bring Maddie back again.
As we were leaving, the administrator stopped me and told me that Maddie was welcome any time because she is so calm and well behaved. I'm so proud of my little girl and the happiness she brought to the residents! BTW, one of the assistant administrators saw the spots on Maddie's tongue and referred to them as her "beauty spots".
