Hello from Phoenix

Hi. I have been reading the threads and thought it only right that I introduce myself rather than lurking about in the background.

We have soon to be three Newfs. Harley is 9 1/2, Zoe is 15 months and Mac is coming on the 29th and will be 8 weeks. Our Sheba passed last year at 9 1/2 and we still miss her so much. All of these are black but we hope to get a Landseer the middle of next year. Some might think that is a bit excessive but I figure everyone here will understand.

Anyway, hello to all and thanks for all the great info you pass on in this site.

:wave:Welcome from Central MA. I'm down a dog at the moment with just three barkers, and only one Newf. I'm going to have to do something about THAT soon!

Welcome from NW FL. We only have 1 Newf (170 lbs) but there are 11 other dogs, average poundage about 65 so he has plenty of company.

Wow! Thanks so much for the fabulous welcome. Our daughter, Kelly, and her hubby are here and they have a brown Newf. We say "hello" back to everyone.

I think maybe we are all a bit different than the rest if we feel we should have more than one big, hairy, doorway blocking, slobber sculpture artist in the house. Wait, most probably think one is an indication of insanity. I feel at home in the nut house.

I tried to attach some pics but I think the forum is smarter than me. It won for now.

Harley, came from rescue at 2, walked in the house, marked by couch and curtains and decided he was the new alpha. Ah, no, that would be me. He was also trained to tackle the wife in his previous home which is why he was in rescue. It took a bit of work but once he figured out I was going to be the boss he became the awesome, sweet, wonderful Newf he was always meant to be.

Zoe came from a breeder last year full of life (hence the name). She was a confident, intelligent, loving puppy and then was badly frightened by a ladder in the yard during her fear imprint stage. I am trying to help not be fearful outside but I haven't been able to make a lot of headway with this. I could use some help if anyone else has had this issue. She is the smartest Newf I've ever owned, trains so easily and is so much fun but outside she is often hypervigilent and skittish. When a dog comes to play she will stay outside for hours with no problem so I am hoping Mac coming next week will maybe start to turn this around for her.

When I figure out pics I will definitely post them.
