Chelsea Plaque Delivery

Hard-working Sue submitted the order for the heroes' plaques and they must be here by Sunday, Dec 14th because the Lieutenant Governor of KY has agreed to present them that afternoon! Those who donated to this cause, already know about this, but I waited to announce it until we got word that the hunters could be there. Pennie called tonight and said all is a go. She and Jerry are friends with the L. G., who is a huge animal lover and knew Chelsea well. Once we've secured a spot in Lexington, KY for the presentation, we may be needing some nearby Newfies to attend the ceremony. I'll let you know when I know. Pennie also told me that Dr. Mongiardo, the L, G., is planning to bring his Lab with him. The two apparently go everywhere together, including the Capitol, but hopefully, not the Operating Room! I just hope the Lab isn't a female in heat! Poor Dunk will be beside himself.

Now, if I'm not on the forum for awhile, it's because I'm working diligently on "take, hold, and give." I plan to have at least one of my Newfs do the honors of actually giving the plaques to Chelsea's heroes - complete with slobber! Sue Lynn, you best head my way so we can work on that forced retrieve again! Duncan, Holly, and possibly even little Addy - your lives are about to change!

Oh yes... we 'MUST' have pictures! There's been a lot of behind the scenes activity going on for this. Just today I thought I'd have a heart attack when the Stineman Co. sent me the final sample text and it had the old words on it! Talk about a jaw dropper! I emailed back and then immediately got on the phone as well! Turned out they had changed the words but the gal who sent the email had sent the wrong attachment! Anyway, Ginny and Penny have been pulling this all together on that end and I so wish that I could attend with one or two of my newfs. Unfortunately, that's a bit too far and at this time of year, I can't possibly break away for a road trip of this distance. So yep, plenty of pics are required.

I really hope that any of you NNer's that live in the vicinity will consider going with your newf for the presentation. That, too, would help to make this special event all the more special! So if you can go, please do!

I think it's wonderful that the Lieutenant Governor is presenting the award! And if Ginny can get Duncan to deliver it... Well that just puts the icing on the cake!!!

GO DUNCAN... make Momma proud!!!

Wow!! This is awesome. "Thank you so much," seems trivial, but it is certainly heartfelt! This is beyond the beyond wonderful - attention to kindness-attention to the special place animals have in our hearts - attention to valiance and courage --how cool!!! You are truly angels here on earth, and Chelsea and our furkids at the Bridge have to be so very proud!!!

Have you notified the major networks? They may be interested, with the LG involved. It would be really cool to have it hit the national news.

Pennie is contacting the L G's press secretary today. We'll see what she says. We also plan to contact the KY networks.

Edited to add: Someone from outside of our local area would more likely draw a response from the National networks. Any takers out there?

I need details. I have something planned on the 13th and 14th - hope it's not then, but I really want to be there with Moonlight. If the timing's not right, I should be able to get my son who lives in Lexington to be there. Or, will it be at Frankfort (capital). Details please.
