Emmie Lou, I paraphrased your email to the WSJ and sent one to the Today Show. They always do human interest stories, so who knows?

If we get an appropriate spot where dogs are welcome, I'll put out an APB for all well behaved Newfs to attend. At this point, I'm still waiting to hear back from the facility I've contacted. They said I'd have an answer by tomorrow afternoon. The date and time are the only things set in stone: Sunday, Dec. 14th 2 -3 est. Does anyone from the Lexington area know of a place?

I know very little about Lexington. Son lives there and I can find his house. I'll ask him as soon as I can catch up with him. He's currently on vacation.

Suzanne- Glad you did, we need to try everyone we can think of. Tonight it occurred to me that a long time friend of my husband's owns a small paper in Central Fl. I sent him an email asking if he had any national media connections he might call upon to write this story. Ron will see him tomorrow so maybe he will have an idea.

GREAT NEWS! I heard from Uptown Hounds today and they are happy to accommodate us. :allg069: This place is incredible - the gorgeous Training Arena we plan to use, is 8,000 square feet with rubber flooring. The rest of the resort is very upscale and impressive. Meander through the link below. Directions to the facility can be found on this site. Once this whole thing comes to pass, I think it would be wonderful for NNers to send appreciative emails to the facility. Their email address is also available on the website.

We need a ton o' Newfies who are current on vaccinations and bordatella, and those that they own, to come on Sunday, Dec. 14th from 2-3 est for the presentation. Uptown hounds asks that you bring proof of vaccinations/bordatella with you. Also, it would be a good idea to plan to arrive about 10-15 minutes before things begin at 2.

Oh Man... I'm in the wrong flippin country... I would give anything to be there with my Murph and be part of such a wonderful endeavor. I can't wait to see the pics and I'm sure there will be many tears shed that day.:icon_knuddel:

Please know that I only posted this, hoping locals would come. I truly didn't expect anyone to travel a long distance, so please don't feel badly. I also thought all would get a kick out of how cool this Uptown Hounds facility is. It's a testament to the fact that there are tons of people who truly love their dogs.

I'm glad you bumped this. So glad you found a good place. Don't think I can make it, and it makes me feel awful. Too many family things going on, and now our school is in the state football championship, which means visitors from out of state to boot!! Great job everyone.
