We got home last night from Boston. On Wednesday she had TPLO and LP surgery on her right leg. It went well, and the vet was surprised and happy to see that she wagged her tail and wiggled to see him the morning after (she's usually friendly, but a bit aloof, with him, as nothing good ever happens when he's around, lol).
So today she is very sore, not bearing weight on the right but she does stand up a bit on her own in the pen. She's peeing normally (last night twice, today twice). When she stands she freaks me out as she looks like she's bearing all her weight on her left FRONT to the point where it's bowing out - but I can't stop her from standing up in her pen or a crate. When she goes out, we support her back end fully and she's on a leash.
She's eating like a horse, licking the outside of the bowl as usual, and when we ate breakfast she laid in her pen and moaned and groaned because she was not in her usual place under the table catching crumbs from my daughter.
She's on Metacam, Tramadol and Cephalexin.
Thanks so much to all who've supported me and us throughout. I'm glad we did not give up on her. Need good thoughts to get her to bearing her weight more evenly as she heals - but I guess all in all it's better she's cautious on the (4X repaired) left LP than trying to put everything on it.
Thanks again, everyone!
