:banghead::banghead::banghead::banghead::banghead::banghead::banghead::banghead:

I saw a similar listing recently. We have a major puppy mill up here (plus several smaller mills) that "specialize" in these types of mixes.....the pups I am fostering are the product of exactly this kind of reckless breeding. Golden Doodles, Schnnoodles, Labradoodles..... people buy into the hype. It sickens me.

i have seen that, being a kijiji junky and i always wanted to send a nasty email!! what is so great about poodles that everyone wants to mix dogs with them????

I am so disturbed by those pictures.....the adult dogs don't look anything like a Newfie, but the puppies remind me of Newfie puppies, but there's just something off about it!

Kinda like creating Frankensteins. Shouldn't mess with Mother Nature.. especially to make a buck. It is sickening..
Nana of all people.. saw a show the other night where they were inbreeding to sell more pups and their brains were bigger than their skulls. They were howling in pain.
She wished for them all (the bastard humans) to all die a painful death...

People like theses poodle mixes because breeds like goldens, labradors, newfies etc...shed. The cross w/the poodle usually cuts out the shedding. I know quite a few people w/golden & labra doodles, and they all say...."We love that they don't shed now.":bah:

My first reaction was not something I care to print here. More in line with the abbreviation WTF but in the full sentence. You have got to be kidding me...
Designer breeds were all the rage around here a few years back..Labradoodle, maltipoo Yorkimall...
Not for me..Some people can be such idiots.
That actually LOOKS like a Newf puppy. I agree that something IS off about the whole thing

As Jane said, poodles don't shed, and they're considered hypoallergenic. Service dog orgs started this trend because they were trying to improve the service dog stock. They were hoping to cross Labs and poodles (and Goldens and poodles) and get service dog prospects with the best of both breeds (particularly non-shedding and hypoallergenic). Admirable, but it didn't work the way they'd hoped.

Unfortunately, the crosses tend to be terribly cute, which pet owners like. The big issue I have, though, is that the breeders promote the crosses as hypoallergenic and non-shedding, neither of which tends to be true. I worry that people with allergies will take a chance on a pup and then dump it at the shelter because it makes their home life miserable.

I don't have such a big issue with the "idea" of a doodle cross. God didn't make dogs -- Man did. We did so intentionally, by identifying a need and selectively breeding for it. What need are the doodle crosses filling? Cute, family-friendly pets -- which I'd hazard as guess is the most-common "job" of an American dog in this day and age.

Ditto...

I have no problem with mutts...ALTHOUGH, my friend bought a 'Goldenstien' at the price tag of $1,000...THAT I have issues with... But then again, good marketing is good marketing and if the public doesn't do it's research they deserve to get taken.....
But your right about an alergic person desiring a New (who wouldn't) and having to get rid of it.... NO FAIR!

BTW, my friends 'Doodle' looks just like a poodle... I'da got a poodle, probably cheaper (probably IS a poodle).

Do you know what it took ?

To read; and accept as a responsible person all of the possible cons that could come about having a Newf as my companion?

I do not see ANY of THESE; MOREOVER the compiled RISKS OF THE ADDED BREED!

How is ONE TO MAKE an informed; rational ; responsible decision to invest in this????

WOW!!! You get "genetic guarantee"! I guess it is to prove the dog is a genuine Mutt.
....lol....

BUT it's a 'Guarantee' righ!? Isn't that a good thing???!!! (rolling eyes)

Lets face it. This is a mutt (no offence puppy) who is bred by someone who is interested in the quick buck. The 'breeder couldn't care less about the dog/new owner past the cash in hand transaction.

I'm not a genious, but in general most people know when they get a 'cute Mutt pup' it could grow up to be ANYTHING!! You could 'guarantee' me things all you want...you can't offer them as dependable in this situation.

And I have ZERO sympathy for someone who buys a pup without researching...(sorry) I research over a year before I got LOlly-pup, visited breeders within 100 miles of my home (in BOTH directions) and eventually found my PERFECT breeder in Quebec....
Oh, then I got a Rescue I knoew virtualy nothing about from a Rescue.... I'll just stop there ;)

They are very cute, sweet personailty dog's...But, they are also high energy and need the excercise. Most of the people I know jog w/them or use them for hunting. One of the men w/a labradoodle said he barley sheds but does kind of blow a coat 2x a year.

oh wow, they're having a Christmas sale. How fantastic.

It looks like a mutilated newf. I do understand the reason for originally crossing the lab and doodle for hypo-allergenic service dogs and I do know there are breeders who have established a breeding program for specific fleece coats based on multiple generations of doodles, which I do think is very different from first-generation cross breeds where NOTHING is guaranteed.

But why take a breed like a newfoundland, which is known FOR its shedding, and try to breed it with a poodle?? It's idiotic! If you were allergic to dogs, you would neve consider anything crossed with a newf!

Just what we need more of the so called designer dogs. Kijiji is the absolute worse website and one of the biggest websites for puppymillers. I actually saw Newfoundlandspups on this site about 1 1/2 years ago that they were asking $500 for. I called out of curiosity and she was a woman in Quebec who was willing to deliver the pup to me (sight unseen of course) and meet me in some parking lot. I will spare you my response to her. I hate this website. There are also a lot of unreputable rescues on the site. A warning was issued about a man who goes by 4 or 5 different names offering to take in your unwanted animals. He is in fact torturing and killing them and is wanted by the police. I can't go on the site anymore because it just makes me sick to my stomach to see what people are doing out there.

When are people going to stop creating these designer dogs? Call me crazy but isn't breeder for one breed dogs? Is that not what was intended in the beginning.

Again, though I gotta say, if the people would stop buying.... there would be no market! I have some VERY mixed issues about breeding... and that includes 'good breders' I should start another thread, but it would be contraversial...

Hey Angie,

I'm so with you there. Probably because we live in Ontario and there's such nasty stuff here.
