When it Rains...It Pours...

Now that Kali is on the mend from her cruciate surgery and doing well, now she's walking slower and putting more weight on the leg each day...(I'm so proud of her). Well, Buddy started limping on his front right paw. This went on for about a week (and I checked every inch of his paw thoroughly and found nothing), then I took him to the vet, and he found nothing. Gave him pain pills and said to watch him, if he got worse, to bring him back immediately and they would do blood work. ((sigh)) A day and a half later he could stand on his rear legs at all! I thought he was paralyzed. Long story short......Buddy has Lymes disease. Kali does too, but she's had it and been treated several times for it. This is Buddy's first go round with it. I tell you what.....All of my fur babies have ALL shots available including Lymes and all are treated for fleas and ticks, but you can never be positive they won't contract the disease. He's on his antibiotics and pain killers along with anti inflammatories and glucosamine tablets. (I'm like a pharmacy right now between Kali and Buddy with all the meds!!) He is doing better now, about 5 days on the meds. Walking is slow, but at least he's walking!! Thank God!

Anyway, they say that God will never give you more than you can handle........well, God must have a lot of faith in me cuz I'm bout ready to crack!

Love to you all.

Yikes! Fortunate in this day and age to have access to vets and meds that help. Prayers for healing for your babes.

I was wondering what was up with you and your babies. Sorry to hear this. It just drive me nuts that you get them every shot on earth to keep these ailments away and whoops - here they are! I hope they feel better soon and are back to being the happy, healthy babies I know and also love.

I always feel at a loss for what to say that doesn't sound like a canned platitude.... just know that we're thinking of you and hoping for a speedy recovery for all, and a bit of peace for you

Oh dear, there are times when you really wonder if you can keep going. I'm not a big football fan but think of it as the goal line is very close, put your head down and charge through. There are times in life when that is all you can do and I think you're at one of those. At least with NN you know there are many of us who truly understand even if we're far away. Virtual hugs.
