What type of bed does your Senior nap/sleep on?

Sunshine's vet at our rehab place suggested that we get her a bed with a bolster. She has started sleeping with her head propped on something. She frequently gets a stiff neck so the Dr. thinks she is supporting herself as it is more comfortable.

So, that brings me to my question - What kind of bed/bedding does your Senior sleep on? I have noticed that many ortho beds are heated. That would be out for us as she would get overheated. I have tried numerous beds throughout her life and it wasn't until we got the ebay beds that Karen alerted all of us to, that she started sleeping on one. She really loves that bed and will seek it out all the time.

Any other senior tips you want to include would be great! Thanks :)

Zacky had just a baby mattress with his own large, very thick pillow. he always had his head on the pillow. When Zacky passed away, Nugget our last senior took over this bed. he also always had his head on the pillow. Now Annabelle (not a senior) uses the same bed.........I do think they like their heads raised.
We just have little elasticized sheets on the mattress.........I hope you find a comfy bed for Sunshine

Mary has an double futon for her daybed. At night she prefers to sleep on the leather couch. If it's stormy out, she likes to get into bed with us.

For Chance we bought a piece of egg crate foam, 4 inches thick and placed it on top of the regular dog bed (pillow type) and then I wrapped the whole thing with a bed sheet. Was easy to clean then when it got all full of slobber! I laid his canine cooler mat on top of that.

We use a baby mattress with a big quilt on it. We also put a body pillow on it for them to lay their heads on if they want. The baby mattresses have a lot more support and are a lot cheaper than the Ortho beds for dogs.

Echo (almost 11) sleeps on a memory foam dog bed with another dog bed (not fluffy pillow type but kind of flat to keep her from tripping) next to it, so she can stretch out. She also has a register that blows right on her. She doesn't seem to like her head raised, but Moonlight (5-1/2) does. She sleeps in a dog crate with an old bedspread wadded up in the lip of the doorway. She sleeps with her head on this wad - most of the time she's upside down with all four feet in the air.

gidget sleeps on the couch with her head on the arm rest... or on the dog bed flat on her back with her legs in the air..

Heh... Harley sleeps on a $1,400 Queen Size Tempur-pedic mattress.... with a fitted flannel sheet!

He does this until he overheats and then finds a spot on the floor. Of course I have to share "his" bed as best I can because he invariably takes up, not half the bed, but at least five eighths! Oh, and there are the mandatory nite-nite tummy rubs... and the gritty stuff on "his" side!

Maggie sleeps on a tempurpedic mattress made by a company called Lilly Pad. She loves it. My only complaint with it is although the cover comes off for washing it can be a pain to put back on.

Chance has his own loveseat, but he also likes the Kuranda bed a lot. When he gets too hot, he chooses the tile.

Right now, Max is asleep on the couch in the rec-room; Charlie is on the couch in the living room...they have ortho beds in their crates that they seem to like.
