Oh how I've wanted another Newf puppy... I'd like to share with you what I've gone through with one particular breeder in Europe who has me on her list. Just before her female got pregnant I asked if she would accept me on her list. She didn't answer me directly, but she asked me to friend her on facebook. I believe her to be well respected in the Newf community so I knew I would have to gain her trust. I flooded her inbox with every training certificate Chumley has ever earned. I believe no less than 6, including CGC and TDI. I sent her his neutering certificate to show her I had no intention of breeding plus I waited until he was 2 yrs. to do so. I sent her documentation showing that I've had him insured for accident/illness since he was a puppy. I sent her pictures of him on dog vacations and get togethers and explained that my dogs go with us on vacation or else one of us stays home with them. She finally accepted me on her list and explained 2 breeder friends got first pick of litter. Her female was pregnant in March and gave birth in June. She knew how excited I was, but had to tell me there were only 3 puppies which were all spoken for. She asked me if I would be willing to wait as she would breed her one last time after the vet said she was cleared. This will be her 3rd and final litter. I was willing to wait. She just contacted me to tell me she went into heat (2-3 months too early), but she did not have the heart to breed her so soon after giving birth to puppies in June. She was very apologetic and truthful explaining she may not have puppies until next Sept. depending on her cycle and If she takes. She also told me she would understand if I was out of patience. If that was the case, she would like to help me search for another puppy. That offer alone told me to have patience and stay with her. Meanwhile, she sends me pics of the 3 puppies as they grow. They're beautiful and healthy and I get an idea of what mine might look like someday as the same sire will be used. I've read on forums where people have had to wait up to 3 years for their puppy, I just never imagined I'd be one of them.
