Our Ch BobbyShafto, worlds sweetest Newf, has been going thru some bad times the last couple of weeks. We got a diagnosis of Spinal emboli that responded well to treatment, and we were told he would recover fully. Then we had a relapse, which they say never happens with Emboli. He was taken to the university for spinal pictures. They found a 7 in tumor in his mid back laying right on his spine. It is inoperable because of it's location. They don't know whether is it cancer or not without biopsy. We are bringing him home tomorrow, and taking him to our private neurologist the first of the week.
He lives with his co owner, and is her service dog. He goes everywhere with her. Restaurants and all..Everyone marvels at this dog and his ability to know Sally's every need. I am depressed over poor Bobby, who is just three, but even more upset for Sally who is inconsolable. They don't give us much hope at this point, but we hope something can be done. Everyone who has met Bobby just loves him. He is a wonderful ambassador for the breed. The condition is not congenital /hereditary, and we do have some of his beautiful sons and daughters..Please keep us in your thoughts and prayers...Julie

Not Bobby Shafto-! This is just not fair. Will keep them BOTH in my thoughts and hope for a miraculous cure.

Could you post a pic of the handsome dog?
