I saw it on facebook, very funny. While I don't necessairly agree with the Vet knows all as far as shots are concerned, I thought most of it was pretty on target with some of the conversations I've heard at my Vet's.

Don't necessarily agree with all of it either. It is given and created from a vet's point of view, not an owner's or a breeder's, so the vets comments are of course subjective.

Hilarious, but also a bit sad...knucklehead BYBers appear to have had an impact on this vet's opinion of all breeders.

It is sad.......so sad it's freaking hilarious. Sometimes the only thing you can do besides cry is to laugh. You're perfectly normal.....hormones and all! :D

It's depressing because it's a re-run of innumerable aggragated vet visits, but very funny because it's so stereotypical. Might deter a few vet students from accumulating $400,000 in loans ...

[ typing this as about to go to county dog license office with Orka and vet note that he should not get any more vaccinations ... certainly not a lot of vax at once ... must be careful not to overstimulate his immune system or his black will disappear again ... expecting county to strenuously object ... will view me just like the guy in video LOL ]

It's the idiot owner angle that's getting me, think it reflects more on that than on breeder, LOL
Agreed. Stupid idiot owner in the vid. Stereotypically stupid enough that I only got halfway through the video before I got REALLY irritated.

What I find sad/depressing is that God gave us all a brain, .....so why do some just refuse to use it! Common sense flew out the window and nobody noticed! (thank god my common sense has recall):roflmao:

Interesting how the responses differ from laughing to sadness/depression to annoyance. I think most of us know of vets like this, owners like this, or breeders like this. It's reality...an hyperbolic reality perhaps. I said it was priceless, as in the value of learning and seeing another's point of view, through illustrating the narrow mindedness and tunnel vision of all three perspectives, of vet, breeder, and owner is priceless. Each one insists that they know best , and dig in their heal when confronted with a differing opinion. Their own experience or knowledge overrides the other, and they will not be persuaded otherwise. They know what they know and that's that. Kind of like the differing opinions on any subject being discussed.

So you have someone who really does want to learn and truly doesn't have a formed opinion, and they get pulled in three or more different directions. Who does one listen too...the experienced, the educated, the latest and greatest new idea that bucks the established way of doing things? No wonder people get confused, depressed, and irritated. ;)

Sad commentary of a piece of the dog and other pet world. Buyers who impulse buy without researching their dog which is why many end up abandoned "it's too big, too active, too much work etc etc etc". I remember scouring the library for Newfie information 30+ years ago, no excuse with all the internet information and connections. As for the vet side, once again good and bad. We switched from a recommended vet to the breeder's vet as we seemed to be always coming back for something else with another office visit charge $$. We are happy with the breeder's vet realistic approach and is genuinely concerned about his patients. I guess our part is to point people towards the information when they ask about Newfies.
