Oh Brother. How funny (and sad) wrapped into ONE! The yin and yang of dog ownership. I certainly feel sorry for most vets out there. I believe most of them go into practice b/c they genuinely LOVE and adore animals, and want the very best. Yes, of course there are sales people from various firms that try to sway them to prescribing stuff....but I trust them, much like I trust most MDs. Naive, maybe, but it's easier for me to see the good in folks who have worked very hard for their educations than it is for me to see the good in Joe Public who can be easily led around by his/her nose, and is 'always right'. Thanks for sending.

As someone who has seen these made (from both sides) about my profession, I find them pretty funny. I think the makers take the most extreme examples and put their own spin on them, and then combine them all together. I really laughed at the new breed of dog he had...it is very sensitive.

"They have all lived into their twenties." That part made me laugh out loud.

"I suggest you take them to the shelters afterwards to show them the miracle of euthanasia." That part, not so much...

Yes, sad but also simultaneously hilarious. An excellent example of satire.

I liked it...and could even see myself in it in places. I'm sure my Vet wants to strangle me at times when I discuss what I've read, heard, think, feed.

The "black walnut" wormer statement would be an example. I use DE, which works for us (not the swimming pool kind!), but I know my Vet would prefer I'd use a wormer he gives us...and I do defer to him now and then...for tapeworms only.

I also have my opinions on vaccinations, and will print out and take him studies, pages from the Veterinary Merck, "Dear Dr." letters from Veterinary Drug Manufacturers, and things like that.

He has a partner Vet that's more "holistic" than he is. I sent her the link to the video on FB. hahaha
