Your totally right Mark. There should be changes. Here are just a couple I think would be great for Obama to fight for.
How about covering the people the government already said they would cover. Like Native Americans, Military and the elderly. After that they can worry about covering everyone else.
How about paying doctors on time for their hard work instead of dragging payments up to a year.

Mark...I have said this before...but 'government plans' pay a fraction of health care cost.....we know that.....medical establishments survive because of the well insured. When we go toa single payer...or mostly..with the infusion of millions more on the system, there will be no choice but to ration health care....just like in other models.(England, Canada, France) That is what /Why so many do not want a system like this.. The Obama administration is not pushing for any type of overhaul other than going to the system..He has clearly stated that that is what he eventually wants....even tho it may take a while to get there....Your guy is a socialist....for sure. There are many who have been vocal on this list who want that. Personally, I don't want to see anything that moves us in that direction. I would venture a guess that many others will not like it once they see what it is..Yes, you won big time...but I really don't think it was over health care reform....and many many people that I run across who voted Obama, say they would not again. They did not listen....He was very clear about everything.. Lots rode the 'HYPE" balloon.... I think people thought he was going to 'clean up Washington'...even I had hopes of that....The only thing he managed so far is Mechelle is spending thousands to redecorate the White House, while gardening in 500 dollar sneakers. I am afraid to see the White House when she is done with it...if they LET us see it.

I must admit that I'm loving the 'panic mode' attached to the word socialist. Kinda like the use of salt..too much salt and sugar in the diets..but ave. america..isn't interested in 'healthing-up'..nope..just give a pill or a tummy tuck..god preserve us from doing anything in our daily lives..that even reMOTELY resembles..healthy, selfcontrol. So..when in a bind..use the fear-word..socialism. Aww..it's ok..I'm loving the use of some of the words also..like 'birthers' and euth. the elderly. Yup..caricatures abound. Oh..and for those who fear..remember I am 71 and a half..so you jus feel free to turn in my age to the folks who are 'tidying up the landscape'..as I might be healthy..and..'last TOO long'..ya jus never know..

All that is right , Ina....people should take responsibility for their health...No one believes me when I tell them my age....but, unfortunately the world is not like that...as you surely know...and socialism has nothing to do with responsibility for health....It is a 'system' that enslaves/takes care of everyone so they do NOT have to take responsibility....and I personally do not like it. You being the 'Earth Mother' seem to want all those poor souls taken care of by all the workers in the system. I say..get off your ass and get a job...even if it does not pay what you would like. There are too many able bodied people depending on the government by choice..not because they have to. It has become generational, and they choose to be dependent. People relying on the government could ,..in most cases...do something productive....not wait for "my check' every month..I see it clearly every day around me. I have no idea how you percieve 'panic mode' other than some of us see this happening pretty fast, and think it needs to be stopped. This is what Obama 'SAID he wanted to do. I heard the words with my own ears during the campeign. He said."we need to spread the wealth in this country. Prosperity needs to start from the 'bottom up' (whatever the hell that means) and not only in this country but around the world. Some of my relatives live there, and I know how they have to live.." and that's a quote. People who listened knew what was to come...maybe you are in favor of it..I am not. We have a wonderful country here...the best system in the world.. that has saved the world basically. We have given more that anyone to third world countries, and the poor. Not to mention sending our military to free them. Our system is based on our constitution...There are a lot of people who do not want to ruin that...It is as simple as that...We need to offer NO oppologies...to anyone...anywhere. Now we are going to have a 'trained citizens malitia"...does anyone know for what? Please tell me. The only benefit I see is the benefit of putting certain people thru basic training and the discipline there of....crooks, robbers, druggies...I can only imagine the confusion. But surely some will come out better individuals... I am a little sick of being called a' Panic person' or put donw by those kinds of titles because I oppose that kind of government.This is America...I have the right....or at least up till now...go ahead, turn me in if you want.

Since for me..the idea even..of a great cloud of techies..pulling the skeins of the information world tight..and shaking-out names/addys/pictures/finger prints..toe-odors, favored media haunts, candy injested at movie theatres..is a hoot and a half. The cars.gov site (which you called the "clunkers" site) has removed/revised the statement, since they got so much heat about it. They say it was just "misworded" and they weren't actually taking over computers (like they said they were) ... so who knows?
However, it's true...it was there. Now...when they removed the warning, did they change the software? Nobody seems to know.
