I just wanted to tell you about a little miracle that just happened. Take the lead is going to help me financially while I am going through my little breast cancer experience. If any one could, please send a thank you letter to them for helping. This is going to take a lot of pressure off me and that will help get me better faster I do believe.

Please thank them for me. I am going to do my best when I get healthy again to pay them back by making donations to them.
Now I don't have to worry about my dogs. Thank god for them.

I forgot to tell you, I am having my surgery tomorrow to remove that evil little visitor. I will be home tomorrow night I hope. Think positive thoughts around noontime, central standard time that this really good surgeon will evict all those nasty little things and that I'll just be one or two ounces lighter. This is sure not the way for a person to try to lose weight......

Glad to hear that they will help you, and that is one less thing on your mind. Good thoughts to you that your surgery will go well!

That's wonderful. I lived in Watertown for a couple of years back in the early 60s. Great Newfy area (lots of cold and snow) but I didn't have a Newfy then.

Oh, what a relief this must be for you, Becky. Sending prayers today and will amp up the candle burning tomorrow. Try to relax today, get some sleep and think 'No matter what, I AM stronger than anything that has invaded my domain.'

Thank you guys. Tricia, I just visualize this as a little teeny tiny lump that is just a temporary nuisance and something that will make me realize how lucky I truly am in this world. I am also going to start taking more vacations once this is done, you can bet on that. I appreciate all of your good wishes. I took newfnet forgranted, just a place to state where I won a dog show here or there. It is more of a family than I could ever imagine. thank you all from the bottom of my heart. Someday I hope to meet you all in person and thank you personally for your encouragement. Also please remember to send "Take the Lead" a thank you note. see takethelead.org for more information.

It is nice to hear you found some help. There are still lots of good organizations out there.

Good luck with your surgery tomorrow. We'll keep you in our thoughts and prayers. :)

It has to be a huge weight lifted for you Becky to find help from Take the Lead. For those of you who would like to know more about Take the Lead : http://www.takethelead.org/ The NCA also supports this wonderful organization. (Oops, we must have been posting the link about the same time)

Will be thinking of you tomorrow. Prayers and good thoughts headed your way Becky. You'll make it though with flying colors. I have no doubts about that. Been there before myself. Mine was a 2cm calcification area, but the actual tumor was much smaller only a 1mm non-invasive DCIS. We caught it very early, and it sounds like yours was caught very early too. That is a huge positive. I just had a lumpectomy, but if mine had been invasive like yours, I would have opted for a mastectomy as well. We originally thought I would need radiation and Tamoxifen follow-up treatment, but they took a large margin, and several consults with Drs. later, we all felt it wasn't needed. I've been cancer free for 3.5 yrs. with no other treatments or drug therapy.
