Just got of the phone with foster Mommy. This sounds like The Sweetest Ever In The World 7 y/o Landseer, spayed, healthy, well trained, taken care of girl in the World! She started out from a BYB and ended up in an awsome home two yrs ago. But, do to family circumstances, they can't keep her. If anyone has interest contact:

http://www.northstarnewfclub.org/

But, just to four warn you, Shirley and Larry WILL NOT give her up with out a back ground check, drug test and they might also have the F.B.I. secretly watching you for awhile. ;)

Lacy, spayed 7 year old female Landseer Newfoundland is a purebred, but does not have papers. I knew the former owner here in Brainerd and she used Lacy as a breeding bitch way too much. When the former owner surrendered her to H.A.R.T. (local animal shelter), Lacy was so caked in matts, she couldn't walk straight. She had a serious ear infection and was absolutely filthy. We cleaned her up, got her to the vet, and she turned into a 'Cinderella'. Beautiful! The very next day, the former owner came back to get Lacy, but the director of HART had called us, and we had already picked Lacy up. But as in the story of Cinderella, she went to a St. Cloud family we interviewed twice, who looked like a great family, are now in a divorce situation. So Lacy, our Cinderella, has been rescued to find a new home.

She is on a medication for incontinence, which has not been a problem at all for us. She is a housedog, will go outside and do her business and comes back to the door to be let in. She 'sits', 'downs', comes when called, and 'back's' away from the door, if you insist that you own the door, not her!

She is very gentle, does not jump up on people or things, will, however, jump into the car for a 'ride'. She strains a bit , 'pulls',when walking, so some gentle training for obedience would help her to know that we'll get all the walking in but not too fast. She is a bit overweight, so knows how to be right there when feeding time happens. We feed our Newfs twice a day and I think she was fed only once a day. Definitely has a good appetitie. We got her up on the grooming table for a good 'brush', the word we use to tell Albert and Lily that we are going to brush and groom them. She liked that. I don't think she knows how to fetch, she won't pick up a toy when you throw it out for her. And I don't think she ever got doggie treats, because she just sniffs and ignores.

She is a lovely dog and deserves a 'forever' home. Let me know what you are thinking.

Lacy is home

AND... she's got a new little brother named Peanut and a little 'sis named Daisy.:allg069::new_smilie_colors1::allg069:

She came HOME Sat. evening. It was a little stressful first couple hours (I had to make a couple frantic phone calls;)) But, once she settled in, every thing was fine.

She is soooo sweet! But absolutly NOTHING 'little' about her. I swear if I didn't have the paper work saying she had been spayed a couple years ago, I'd think she was pregnant. She'll be at the vet next month when most of her shots are due and I'll try to get a good diet figured out. I'm guessing she needs to drop around 25lbs.

We went on a couple VERY short walks yesterday. She gets out of breath just walking to the end of my drive way. We went and visited a couple of our neighbors and she is willing to give out kisses to who ever will take them and her tail never stops wagging.
