Our beautiful Dexter went to the bridge this morning. He was sick for two days and his mommy & daddy helped him cross over at 8:30. We love him and will miss him every single day. Run free our sweet sweet boy!!

Dexter was such a mommies boy. He would follow me everywhere and anywhere I went. He was the absolute sweetest boy ever...he loved exploring his little world as much as he could...he loved the wind in his face and would make his daily trek to the apple tree across the road to find an apple that had fallen to the ground. He gave love so freely and sweetly always such a patient guy until it came to his food which he would run to get. Mention the word treat and oh my goodness, he full out ran to get it. Dexter was 13 and we could see him declining the last few months...he had lost weight and his face was getting thinner. But, two days ago he started throwing up and would not eat anything at all, only wanted to drink water which only would come right back up. He looked to me for help with those precious eyes...it was time. My boy crossed to the bridge very peacefully with all the love I could give holding his head in my hands with my eyes looking in his. So hard to say goodbye but knowing it was the best I could do for my sweet boy. There will never be a better friend than Dexter...he will be missed for the rest of our lives!

So very sorry to hear of your loss. Your Dexter looks so much like our Sage who we lost two summers ago. So heartbreaking. Wishing you peace and happy memories.

Bless his heart. He looks like a sweet and gentle soul. Reminds me a lot of my departed Yogi. Same face, same goodness of heart.

Rest well sweet boy. Look up Yogi and Hugo. They'll take good care of you.
