Hey everybody! It's me....Barry, your favorite honorary newf, checking in!
OMG! I have so much to tell you!

First, I am doing GREAT! Spring is in the air, it has been raining, and the excavating is going great! I have dug up enough ground and moved it, my parents now have an extra 2 acres!

2nd: We ( when I say we, I am talking about my pack) killed a bobcat! Oh man....talk about a wild night. It was there, and it was dozing in what it thought was a safe zone....NOT! We had been gunning for him for awhile...he had been killing baby goats, and our Goat Goddess, Robyn, was quite beside herself over this. We knew that if we were going to have any peace, we had better get something done and soon.

3rd and best: Oh, I am almost chasing my tail I am so excited to tell you all this...I have a grandbaby!
He is a cute little feller and his name is Quinton Quincy Wilkinson. What a mouthful! Q for short.... He will be a year old this month, and he is quite the little poop stain! So, I have a new kid to guard. I lie on the deck and he screams and hollers and climbs on me and kisses me. It is my job to follow him everywhere, and I know he has these things called parents that watch out for him to, but they really just get in my way. And, they sometimes try to tell me how to guard kids....I mean, can you believe that?? Please! I finally just had to get between them and the 2 legged kid and tell them to back off. The GG (Goat Goddess) intervened, and I DO have to carry out her wishes......

But, all in all, life is good. I will spend this weekend with Q, helping him hunt Easter eggs and trying to keep those things called parents from ruining his fun....

Murphy old bud, I hear you are having a rough time with doctors. Hang in there buddy! You are in my thoughts.

Love ya all!

OH, guess what? There might be two more just like me coming to live with us. We are waiting for the court case to be decided, to see if they will go back to their original owner, or come here....man, I hate breakin in new hands.....

love ya!
Sokol!!

Welcome back......Long time no hear

Wow, what exiting time :shocker: killing a bobcat and I thought Tessa was brave for killing a feral cat. Seems very ordinary now.

LOvely to hear about Q......Where are the picture???? Ronnie

Sokol it is so good to hear from you. You tell the GG she needs to give you access to the computer more often! We are so happy you are having a wonderful life after all you went through. Keep up the good works AND be sure to guard that grandbaby. We all know you KNOW what is best for him so keep it up. Let us know if you get to break in 2 new hands. I bet they need a great new life just like you were given.

Please keep us posted.

Take care little buddy! You sure found the right home.

For those of you who don't know Barry's (now Sokol) story, be sure and search for it. It's a whopper and you will love it!

What are the odds of 2 more like me being in this country?? Amazing! Word was put out that rescue was looking for someone with experience with the Tornjak breed, and several people sent them to my GG. So, we will see what happens.

I have been busy posing for some action shots in the pasture....(a little secret here)...I MIGHT be in the new edition of The Encyclopedia of Dog Breeds. We will have to wait and see on that one too.....

And, please tell Tessa that ferel cats is where I started too, and they are not mundane by any means!!

Those cats are out to rule the world.....someone has to stop them. Fight the good fight, Tessa!!

Goat Goddess, lol. Sokol, what an adventurous life you lead-you and your buds killing a bobcat! I am in awe! I only hope there aren't any :bear::bear::bear: where you live- I pity the :bear: that crosses the path of you and your posse!

Congrats on the newest member of the Poyner crew, I am sure the grandparents are spoiling him ROTTEN! :icon_cool: Great to 'see' you Robyn!

Hey everyone! Sokol is doing great. He is absolutely crazy over Q and it just cracks me up to watch them. The other day, when he got a bit irritated with the parents and got between them and Q, I told Carlin to watch it, as Sokol has claimed the baby. Carlin said, "Mom! I showed him Quinton when we got out of the car..he knows he belongs to me!" I laughed at him and said that I thought Sokol had just claimed Q and that was all there was to it! lol

We are excited, waiting to hear if we will get the other two Tornjaks or not. We may not get them, but we are the only ones on the list to get them, if the court case goes bad for the owner.

Rico is growing old, and he is getting past the general age that LGD live to. He is slower now and grayer, and my heart is sinking as I know that each day he is still here is a gift, but the days are getting shorter for him. Keep him in your prayers for me. A part of my soul will die when he passes.

I know that Czaritsa is ready to take over in the guarding department, but none of us are ready for the inevitable.

It is good to see everyone! I have missed you alot. Just been so darn busy...ok, not so much busy as kicking back and playing with that grandbaby. Who knew they were so darn fun?!

Yes the grandbabies are wonderful! Worth raising the first batch!

Please know that Rico is in our prayers and thoughts on a daily basis. I love the seniors, but it is saddening to know their time grows short.

Hope you get the Tornjaks. I can't think of a better home for them. And Sokol will have some kin, I'll bet.

Hi Sokol, I got to NN just as the first part of your story was coming to it's wonderful conclusion in your new home. It's great to hear that all is going so well for you and you are having so much fun. Hope you get some new buds to play with- and be careful with that human one, parents get real bent, real fast.

Thanks everyone for the prayers. I love all my dogs, but Rico has been my boy for so long now. He and I are so bonded, he knows what I want him to do before I even say it. He has been a huge source of joy and pride for me for many years now.

I just can not imagine my pasture without him someday.

And Sokol, my freckle faced boy is such a sweetheart. I ju st love that boy! He sits with his head on my shoulder on the steps and talks to me. I adore him. They each have their special little quirks that are so unique.

And, I should let you all know that Sokol has an illustrator for his books. It has been a long learning road for us, but we are getting there! We are so excited and will keep you all posted when the time nears!
