OH... I want to come.... I checked it out on mapquest and they say it is 2,422 miles for us. That makes it like a 4 1/2 day drive.
I need to do some heavy heavy beggin to get Bob talked into driving all that way. We haven't had a vacation in forever so maybe I can get him talked into this as one. I will do my best!!!
WISH ME LUCK :D

Boy am I glad I read this thread, Noreene already has somebody picking me up

Ya know.... Hubby drives a car hauler... he could pick up people, and you could ride in the cars!!!
Don't know how you'd get the dogs in though.... :D
Seriously though, this sounds like a very cool idea. We just might be able to make it!

Hey Noreene, the other day hubby was going through Casper and he saw what looked like a meteorite going down. It was white, then turned green before landing. Freaky!

LizziE to funny! i am busting a gutt trying to picture your hubby using the car hauler to pick up peoples! LOL
as far as the more expensive items such as the kart and the stainedglass, why dont you try to auction them?
maybe a paper auction?
i dont knwo about paper bag thingies, but maybe people can put bids into a bag and they can be read off and highest bidder wins?
we can kind of set a goal price?
if i cannot make it i will mail the pieces to annie.

I would just like to say one thing: Holy Cow!

Jeannie you astound me. Hell - EVERYONE here astounds me. The way this group of people pulls together to make things happen never ceases to amaze me.

I will try very hard to be there. It will be very possible for ME to be there. As for the rest of the tribe, it's 10+ hours in the car with two newfs and two kids - three and four years old. You do the math.
I'd never say never though.

This is such a cool idea. Jeannie let me know by a certain date how many people are committed. Maybe we can put together some special NEwf-Net T-shirts or coffee mugs for the event.
I think I'm going to have to come up with something to donate too. Something nice. This morning I was ready to donate Cozy, but I've since reconsidered.

Jeannie if you want a dedicated web page for the event let me know. I can also add a complete category for the event here on the board if you'd like.

First, let me say Thank you so very much for all of the enthusiasum(sp)and for all of the yes yes yes's that we are not only going to do this thing but in Grand Style. I never expected so many responses to an idea we have all thought of before in our hearts. Jeannie without your offer this probably would have been just another Idea.

A Web site would be great! We could post the directions to your place and the registration forms which can be emailed right to you Jeannie.
We can also post winners and pictures etc. there.

Annie maybe you can include a sign up sheet for volunteer duty with the different events so it doesn't all fall on you and Jeannie as we all want to help.
T-shirts would be great! We can take a pole on what they should say and I would be happy to make the purchase and get them printed up. If you would like me to do this Jeannie just let me know so I can get the sizes and prices posted.

And hey, how about a mini obedience competition while we are at it?

This is going to be one awesome weekend! I can't wait.

Gary,

I was wondering when Oreo's would enter the picture!!!

Since some of the ideas for auction items seem to be pretty cool, maybe we could have a silent auction for them! Whadda ya'll think?

As for the registration form... it's still in my brain and not on paper as of yet. My dear Mother is being the "supreme brat-primadonna" and fired one of her nurses.... which left her with no caregiver (for no good reason)... so I'm camping out at her house until one comes. I thought "our elders" were supposed to be more mature than their offspring.....

Jeannie, I would be happy to look into getting some Newf Net T- shirts as my contribution. Having no artistic/craft talent, I thought I could at least offer this.

The catering sounds great, as do all the activities. I'm gettin' more & more excited every day!
