Sam is still tasting winter!

We spent the day with our neighbours. The sap is beginning to run.....no not me.... the maple sap!

(Obviously we are in a different part of Ontario than Kaila & Ayasha :lol: )

Oh wow......I love Maple syrup, how great to be able to get the 100% pure stuff straight of the tree. great pics, thoroughly enjoyed your countryside. So different here in Australia.
Closest we get to free sweet stuff is that we have free honey from wild bees, who don't sting

PS Ilove the cheese platter, my kind of end to a good day. Was there a nice mellow red to go with that ?

You have bees that don't sting!!! My Dad, Uncles, Grandfather, and Great grandfather were all beekeepers. Our bees stung -except for the drones!!!
Yes, we had white for dinner - (salmon), red with the cheese followed by a brandy!!!
Once they start boiling the sap we have little toddies with the hot syrup straight from the pan mixed with demerara rum ....mmmmm

Oh, I LOVE maple syrup season!! That definitely looks different from here in Oakville. I must admit I am happy we don't have all that snow!
