my sweet girl Layla , had a day of tests yesterday , and though the biopsy results will be 5-6 days , the vet is almost certain that it is osteosarcoma . she is on previcox and tramadol . she had a fair night , and as I write she is asking for some of the treats I have in my pocket . so we will love her , spoil her , hold her close , and cherish every moment we have with her , Layla is 10 years old , and is our princess .

Spoil the ol lady best you can Jacque, so very sorry for the diagnosis (If there is one thing I think I hate more than TICKS...it's CANCER!) Pass newfie sized hugs, from me and my crew!

thankyou all so very much for your prayers and good thoughts for Layla , we are still waiting on the test results , she had a good night and ate a hearty breakfast , the pain meds seem to be doing the job , here are a couple of photos of Layla.

Layla is stunning! I'll reiterate...damn cancer. Make sure your vet has a clear plan for pain management and make sure those pills are in your posession before she's uncomfortable. Does your vet have 24 hour emergency services? Who can you call if she goes downhill at 2 a.m.?
Don't forget to spoil her with lots of positive energy.

Really good advice! So important to have everything in place beforehand. My girl did not have cancer, but had an illness that caused things to deteriorate rapidly and I don't feel we prepared enough.

Layla is not good this morning , we have spoken to the vet , and we are about to leave , I think this may be our final journey together , thankyou for all your kind words and prayers , they mean a lot ,
