One of my girls, Mary Mary, was acting a little odd about 2 weeks ago. She is a Ch sired and Damed girl, and I was expecting her in heat. She is three,,,I thought I noticed a little discharge, so I put her on some antibiotics, thinking she might be developing a pyometria. She really got no better, and about three days ago she started tucking her tail..She also clapped her mouth when she drank...(odd),,,and her temp was low..So I had the vet out with her ultrasound machine,,,,we both concluded it was probably a pyometria , area looked mushy, and she immediately went to the vet...Her fluids were low so they put her on fluids for the night.. The next morning my vet called, and she had puked up a TOWEL !! I have no idea how she even got a towel, much less ate one.,WE assume it had been in her stomach the whole time.. They told me that they knew of a dog that ate a ball cap, and six months later threw up the bill !! moral..Don't even think you know everything...She is perked up now, and eating well, but is going to stay a day or two till her kidney reading are right. She evidently got very dehydrated.

Geez, Mary! A full size towel or a kitchen towel size?
After all, she is child of Bobby, grandchild of Simone....So she inherited the "anything is food until proven otherwise" gene.
Now I don't feel so bad about Gabriel eating kitchen sponges.
Glad everything came out, er, UP okay and Mary is doing well.
Two weeks is a long time to carry that around in her gut....I would think she would have been in much more dire straits before that long....

That's wonderful that she is now okay, but I am still amazed that she ate a towel whole?? My guys at least take a second to make whatever they are inhaling into some sort of pieces. I hope she recouperates fully soon, and is home ASAP.

OMG! Julie! Poor Mary Mary....a towel? Really there, girlfriend, a towel?

"So she inherited the "anything is food until proven otherwise" gene." Must run in the family to the Skye puppy, too...little stinker is bound and determined to swallow a shoe whole.

I'm so glad your girl is perked up and eating. You have our prayers for a full recovery.

I'm so happy that she's feeling better. I've just gone through something similar with Chance (we think). He was so ill....vomiting up everything. Then it stopped for 2 days. Then it started again. They saw "something" on an xray, but it wasn't a complete blockage...so they put him on anti nausea meds, not wanting to do exploratory surgery on a Newf who is 11 yrs 4 mos old.

He passed a 2" long piece of twisted blanket...and has been getting better and better (appetite is back, he's pooping small amounts...he's only eating very small amounts) since then. I suspect that was the offending "something".

Donna....I am sure you are watching his stool...,maybe some will get 'pooped out' if he ate more. It would have been a catastrophe if Marys towel had gone into her intestine..
