Charlie and I jumped the broom Saturday! We had a blast, schedule mix ups, bad car breaks, flat tires, lost guests and all! And the weather was nice.
The caterer was awesome and the food was delicious! The venue was off the chain and the DJ rocked the house. My niece and I planned the whole thing in six weeks and pulled it off! It was Halloween story book themed and totally non traditional. We gave our guest quite the production. My maid of honor was Alice and The best man was the Mad Hatter. Then we had little red ridding hood paired with the big bad wolf, Dorthy possessed by Marilyn Monroe paired with the scarecrow, and tinker bell and peter pan for our brides maids and grooms men.
They all came down the aisle totally in character with Charlie doing an introduction of them for our guests. Including Alice falling down the rabbit hole when she got to the end and the Mad Hatter sipping his tea and Marilyn striking poses and blowing kisses, the scarecrow barely able to walk, and the big bad wolf stalking little red ridding hood and the guests and tinker bell being adorable and Robin hood calling himself Tyrone hood and pimping down the aisle. Our ring girl bore a tray of ring pops and spiders and fingers and our flower girl was a candy corn girl who merrily went about tossing flowers and candy. Oh, our guests loved it, they hooped, hollered and cracked up. When it was time for my mom to walk me down the aisle, Charlie played his guitar and sang Crystal. There was not a dry eye in the house. This had been a long time coming. Our first dance was to the Monster Mash and we had a costume contest for everyone. They danced to KC and The Sun Shine Band's I'm your Boogey Man for the Judging. The Scarecrow won. Oh we kicked it, it was so much fun! We flew a bad ass photog in from NYC and when we were out on the street photographing boy did we give everyone a show. All kinds of people were joining in on the fun and snapping pictures. I felt just like Cindy Lopper in my dress and couldn't stop jumping and spinning around! Oh and our shoes were Chuck Taylor's! Mine were purple and cream and Charlies were black and checkered. Our costumes after the ceremony were Sorcerer and Sorceress wands and all! Our guests came in costume. We had an open bar also for all of our guests. They loved that. What a blast we had! We totally kicked it! I will post pics as soon as I get them. Oh and the cake. The cake! Wait til you all see the cake! It was off the chain and yummy delicious! The cake topper was a cleft note and a camera! And of course the Bling! I got a sneak peek of the ring shots. Wait until you see them! I am still grinning from ear to ear! We had a great time! Everyone kept telling us that it was the best wedding they had ever been to, they had no idea that it was going to be so off the chain. We were in the city, down town St. Louis, and as people were passing by they wanted to come in an join the party. To funny! Charlie and I have decided that we are going to have an annual Halloween Bash to celebrate our anniversary! Oh, such a good time! Can't wait to share pics with you all!
