My parent's Border Collie (Puhallo's Best Irish Mist) Misty was helped to the Bridge on Sept. 27th. They had removed a lump in June but by September it had come back with a vengeance.
Misty was the quintessential BC! You could NOT walk through a park without her herding children, geese, ball players... You couldn't take her to the lake or she'd have a nervous breakdown unless all people were OUT of the water!
She loved banana's and popcorn. Every night my Dad would share a bowl of popcorn with her.
Misty would sneak into my Niece's room to steal her stuffed monkey, dragging it out by the banana in it's hand.
Once, when hiking in the hills behind their home, Misty brought my Mom a present. She would run off, then come back, run off, then come back. When she hadn't come back for a while, Mom called for her. She came running, with 2 big horned sheep!
We'll miss you Misty-Mew!
Yesterday one of my best friends helped her brindle cat, Little Miss Tikka, to the Bridge. Tikka put the "B" in Bee-atch, deigning to acknowledge you only if she had nothing better to do. And don't you DARE try and give her affection; it could be worth your skin. At 16 she had mellowed and didn't draw blood as often. Tikka was diagnosed with cancer and let us know she was done with our pathetic attempts to control her.
The Bridge is welcoming two wonderful furbabies that made this world a better place.
