Hi, we are Rod and Anne-Marie, we are thrilled to have found such a wonderful site. We live in south central Alberta, Canada and currently have a 3 yr old Landseer, Piper (our avatar) and a 6 yr old Golden retriver, Sam. We were show and obedience people many years ago with our first 2 Newfs, Dark Morgan of Brindy Brooks and Daisy-Mae of Brindy Brooks. These were both grandpups of Topmasts Pied Piper. After they strolled to the rainbow bridge we were Newfless for many many years, my husband just couldn't get over his heartbreak at losing our babies. Finally I convinced him I COULD NOT live without another Newf and Piper was found, he also is a Topmast descendant, he has the topmast head too. He came St. Loius Mo. and flew out, due to the weather out east he had a stop over in a Michigan doggy daycare for the temperature was to warm for him to continue his flight during the day, they then held the second leg of his flight for 45 minutes until the temperature dropped a couple of degrees. I have always wondered what the passengers thought while waiting oin the tarmack, just to see a dog crate being loaded and then the flight left. LOL We are now ready to bring another Newf into our lives but a rescue or rehome is what faith tells us is right. So I send this out to the powers that be that our next girl will find us.

Welcome to you and to Piper! I'm sure you'll enjoy the site as you look around. There are lots of photos, and lots of wonderful stories...and of course, a ton of valuable information!

The Newf National Specialty (in the US) begins tomorrow, so you might find it a bit "slow" here for a week! But things will surely pick up once everyone gets home and posts all of their photos, news, and stories.

So please don't feel ignored if there aren't a lot of responses (or posts in general) this week. It'll pick up after the National!

And...is that a fish in Piper's mouth? Ours will fish in our pond, but then spit them out and watch them flop around on the shoreline (until we go out and rescue them and throw them back)!

Yes that is a fish in Pipers mouth, his all time very favorite treat, fresh from the creek! Good Luck to everyone at the Nationals, looking forward to hearing all about it when you all return, wish we could be there.

Hi and welcome from the west coast.
Hope that you find your next newf soon. I've seen pictures of Pied Piper, he was awesome.
My 2 boys come from south of Calgary!
