Today the vet's coming out at 1:30 to help us take Murphy to the Bridge. This past week the tumor really grew fast and up and down his leg; he's got club foot. Murphy's eating, watching the house, wagging his tail but has a REAL hard time getting up and down and outside. Once outside will only poop once a day instead of three. Potty in segments. Doesn't want to be outside more than a couple of minutes, which is totally unlike himself. He just spends all his time on his blanket in the living room. It's hard because looking at him, he's fine. But there's no reason to prolong the pain and I see the pain in his eyes, no matter how much he still tries to be happy for me. I don't want that leg breaking, especially if I'm not home. Murphy doesn't deserve this.
Murphy, while you've been with us only half of your short 8 yr. life, I'll never forget how loyal you've been to us. How you took the best naps with me and made me feel safe and secure and warm on cold days or nights. How I wish things could have turned out differently, how we thought your limping was just your hips or arthritis, never in a million years did we expect osteo. Now you won't be in pain, and you'll find out that thunderstorms aren't anything to worry about anymore. Now you can guard heaven with your powerful bark and help protect all the other furkids that are there too. I hope you'll wait for me at the bridge so someday God will let us take our long walks together again. I'm going to miss you so much, Murphy. Thank you for all you've done; I'm so very proud of you.
